    Náš projekt PRO CHMEL je ve Financial Times! Klimatická změna a s ní související extrémní výkyvy počasí představují pro pěstování chmele - jedné ze tří klíčových surovin pro výrobu českého piva - vážné ohrožení. Náš vědecko-výzkumný projekt PRO CHMEL chce pomoci pěstitelům se na tuto změnu adaptovat. Společně s partnery jsme vytvořili aplikaci, která chmelařům radí, kdy mají zavlažovat, a kolik vody je třeba použít, aby chmel prospíval. Díky tomu dokáží zacházet s vodou, které mají nedostatek, efektivněji. Aplikace využívá data z téměř tříletého měření na českých chmelnicích, z meteostanic, senzorů z půdy i na chmelu i učení pomocí umělé inteligence. From researching content to fetching images using function calls through the Unsplash API, our AI agents worked collaboratively to gather all the relevant materials needed to illustrate these ground-breaking innovations in the agricultural sector. 💡 How it worked: 🔧We leveraged function calls in Python to download and save images directly to our content library. 🤖AI agents retrieved high-quality images relevant to "agriculture technology" without the need for manual intervention, streamlining the entire blog production process. This blend of technology and creativity is something that's every interesting. It’s amazing how AI not only improves efficiency but also enhances the quality of the content we produce.     After two years of measuring the impact of weather on the growth of hop plants, our FOR HOPS research project, initiated by Plzeňský Prazdroj together with Microsoft and the Hop Research Institute, has brought its first results. ✅ We have found out for the first time in history how much water a hop plant needs during one season to flourish. Each stem consumes on average 2 litres of water every day in the vegetation period, which means the whole plant needs 10-12 litres a day. 💧 We now know how long water stays in the soil and when hop plants start to fade considering the weather forecast. All the data is available to participating hop farmers in an online database. The database helps them to decide when and how much to irrigate. The experience this year shows that a change in the irrigation tactics based on the collected data has led to an increase of 40% in the yield on a participating hop farm in Chrášťany! In spring 2024, the online database and an irrigation model will get a “face”, a user-friendly application, available to all the participating farmers. 📱 It will help hop growers water their plants more efficiently, and thus help them maintain the quality and yield of the domestic hop-growing industry, the third biggest producer of hops in the world. 💚 #FORhops

    Náš výzkumný projekt PRO CHMEL, který jsme iniciovali spolu s Microsoftem a Chmelařským institutem, přinesl po dvouletém měření vlivu počasí na růst chmele první výsledky. Poprvé v historii jsme zjistili, kolik vody během sezony potřebuje chmelová rostlina, aby prospívala. Každý stonek spotřebuje ve vegetačním období v průměru 2 litry vody denně, tedy 10-12 litrů vody za den na celou rostlinu. 💧 Víme, jak dlouho vydrží voda v půdě, a kdy chmel s ohledem na předpověď počasí začne usychat. Všechna data mají zapojení chmelaři k dispozici v online databázi. Ta jim pomáhá rozhodnout se, kdy a v jakém množství zavlažovat. Letošní zkušenosti ukazují, že změna taktiky zavlažování na základě získaných dat přinesla na zapojené chmelnici v Chrášťanech zvýšení úrody až o 40 %. ✅ Na jaře 2024 pak představíme k online databázi „tvář“, uživatelsky přívětivou aplikaci, která bude k dispozici všem zapojeným pěstitelům. 📱 Pomůže pěstitelům efektivněji zavlažovat a tím zachovat kvalitu i výnosy tuzemského chmelařství, které je třetím největším producentem chmele na světě. #PROchmel
