In this intimate interview, Raitt speaks candidly about the tough reality of their journey — from noticing the early signs and adjusting her career as his needs grew, to navigating her role as both partner and decision-maker. “It’s a completely different world. You pivot from one of happiness, hope, and thought of the future to one of every year that goes by gets worse,” she said. Don’t miss their deeply personal story of resilience, love, and commitment in the face of unimaginable change.

Feeling overwhelmed by the state of women’s healthcare? You’re not alone. It’s easy to wonder if things can ever change. But there’s hope — and progress — if we join forces. Today's story on The Honest Talk sheds light on voices like Dr. Sukhbir (Sony) Singh, who is at the forefront of fighting for equitable healthcare in Canada. From near-universal contraception access to tackling access issues for vulnerable groups, these changes are within reach if we work together. “It’s tough. But the only way I see forward is for women to stand up and to challenge the status quo. I believe strongly that society has failed women with respect to optimizing their health," said Dr. Singh. New episode alert! 🎙️ Best-selling author and award-winning journalist Elizabeth Renzetti joins us to discuss her new book, gender inequality, the U.S. election and reporting on the #MeToo movement. "Once I started writing #MeToo columns and opinions, so many women wrote to me. It was really overwhelming in a way because they would say, 'I haven’t been able to tell anyone this, and I don’t necessarily want you to write about it, but I needed to tell someone,'" she told Jennifer Stewart and Catherine Clark, ICD.D. "And I thought of all these people sitting there with that pain for so long, for decades. Often, some of these women were in their seventies, or even, you know, older, and they had been sitting with this for so long, unacknowledged."

Recently, we’ve seen more and more women open up about their journeys with #ADHD, often getting diagnosed later in life. Today, we are resharing Katy McFee’s story of self-discovery and how her diagnosis has reshaped her perception of herself and ADHD as a whole. “When I finally received the diagnosis, I found it quite emotional, I think, because it was so validating,” she said. “It brought up a lot of the shame that I had dealt with over several years … I had always attributed these ADHD symptoms to be my own personal character flaws when, in fact, it was out of my control.”
