About us

I have been a nurse since 2007, working 8 years as a bedside nurse and 7 years in nursing leadership. During that time, I have viewed countless resumes and participated in many interviews. Since I’m experienced on both sides of the table, I now provide 1:1 help on what you need for an outstanding nursing resume, cover letter, LinkedIn profile and how to ace your job interview. I am a mom of 2 school aged kids, so I understand the struggles of working parents and work life balance! I’d love to work with you to help you achieve your career goals and land your dream job. I have real life experience in helping nursing students, new grads, nurses looking to change specialties, nurses looking for nontraditional jobs, and nurses transitioning into advanced practice or leadership roles, as well as entrepreneurship! On the side, I am a podcaster on hot topics in healthcare and an advocate for issues that affect nurses. I am passionate about helping all nurses, including RNs, RPNs, LPNs, and NPs. Let’s chat!     Saw a discussion online that hospitals aren't "letting" nurses speak to talent acquisition. Newsflash: You don't need special permission to talk to recruiters. In fact, they want to hear from you. Here's what you do. On LinkedIn, type in [name of company] + [recruiter] into the search bar. Other words you can try are talent acquisition, recruitment, or HR. If you go to the company's LinkedIn page, click on the people tab and do the same thing. Nurses, it's time to stop the fear, silencing, and thinking we need to ask permission for everything.

    I can't even begin to explain the negative effects of prolonged exposure to a toxic work environment or a toxic bully. Unfortunately this is all too common in nursing. The litmus test for organizations is how they deal with these people. Do they act accordingly or allow the toxicity to spread?

    Advice to nurses feeling overwhelmed or stuck: Be your own cheerleader. In a world where no one will believe in you, believe in yourself. In a world where no one will take a chance on you, bet on yourself. In a world where no one will give you the time of day, make time for yourself. You can do this with or without help. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do something.

    The biggest challenge I see for nurses is thinking outside the box. What stops us? -fear -silencing -lack of confidence -lack of role models I challenge you to look outside of nursing and healthcare for opportunities and inspiration.
