Thank you to the team from TD, Brock Kennedy, David Farhood and the incredible group from Cash Management Services, who came out to Anishnabeg Outreach (AO) Farm to help with potato and corn harvest for community spirit bundles, which help feed nearly 450 local indigenous families, and local food banks. Brock reached out to look for an activity that would allow his team to give back to the community in a meaningful way, work together, and get off their computers for a day. United Way is thrilled to partner with workplaces and local non-profits on Days of Caring where everyone wins. Interested in exploring opportunities? Please message us.

About us
United Way Waterloo Region Communities is dedicated to helping people live better lives in every one of the seven communities we serve. We are fundraisers who support a network of agencies whose programs and services are locally focused, informed, connected and deeply invested in helping people reach their full potential. We engage and mobilize the community around grassroots causes. The funds we raise support a network of agencies whose programs and services deliver community wide benefits. Our investments include everything from emergency food and shelter services to enable people to meet their basic needs; to counselling and harm reduction programs helping people live healthier lives; to after school and mentorship activities which provide vulnerable young people a chance at a better future. To ensure critical agencies, programs and services get the funding they need, and to ensure donors have a clear line of site to the work we do, we have focused on cause-based giving. Campaign for a Cause is a targeted community campaign that provides the opportunity for you or your workplace to give back in a way that aligns directly with your values and goals. It has been an honour and a pleasure to collaborate with a talented group of local leaders in launching Women United here in the Waterloo Region. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be introducing our executive committee, and would like to start with our newly appointed Chair, Jennifer Ward, MBA: 'When I joined the United Way Cabinet in 2023, I was returning to the Waterloo Region after many years away. The United Way Cabinet has provided me with an invaluable opportunity to learn about the social needs of the community in which I work, grow my network, and use my influence to find synergies between what I do every day at work and the social needs of the community, as well as the opportunity to give back. As a woman in leadership, we have a role to play in uplifting others – that role extends beyond our professional and personal networks to those around us in the community. By joining Women United, it provides me with an opportunity to do just that. It’s about giving me the forum to connect with other women, support those in leaning into their generosity – whether that is through donations or through their talent and time – to make a lasting impact.' #WomenUnited #UnitedWayWRC

We were delighted to roll up our sleeves alongside a passionate group of PepsiCo volunteers for a Day of Caring at Anishnabeg Outreach (AO). The team contributed their efforts to tend to the flourishing crops, which are generously shared with the community through the Spirit Bundle Program. We extend our heartfelt thanks to PepsiCo for their community leadership and dedication to making a positive impact.

It is such a joy to distribute the kits packaged by our devoted corporate partners Gore Mutual Insurance in their Day of Caring Activities. 425 hygiene kits went to our incredible non-profit partners at the Cambridge Food Bank. It takes all of us working together to make a change and we are so grateful to all our partners. United we can end poverty. #UnitedWayWRC #kitsforacause
