Last week, we kicked off our Igniters program with a launch event that truly set the stage for an impactful journey ahead. This inaugural gathering brought together young leaders and professionals eager to make a real difference in global health. Faizal Jiwani, a passionate Igniter and entrepreneur, captured the spirit of the program with his reflections on active philanthropy: “Typically, we donate money to good causes and get a report on the great things being done, possibly a tour. How amazing is this concept of Donor Decide Philanthropy. We get to pretend to be a Dragon on Dragon's Den and use our entrepreneurial skills to improve global health.” Through Igniters, each participant has a hands-on role, combining personal passion with purpose to advance health innovation and community care. The evening also highlighted the Foundation's commitment to equitable health solutions and its mission to seek, inspire and lead bold solutions to seemingly insurmountable challenges and ignite new discoveries in health. A special thanks to all attendees, especially our Igniters, who are already bringing fresh ideas and enthusiasm. Together, we’re driving change that crosses borders and brings lasting impact. Looking forward to dicussing the magic of the University Hospital Foundation Artists on The Wards Program with Jennie Vegt on Friday at the celebration for “Artists on the Wards: for artists and ‘not artists’”.
