A safe work environment is Western's number one priority. We're continually evolving our processes to ensure everyone gets home safely each night. That's why we were especially happy to welcome WorkSafe BC to our timberland operations around Port Hardy, Holberg and Port Alice for a special project. WorkSafe has created a series of educational videos promoting a risk management approach for cable yarding. We were glad to support the project with our machinery and Western employees put on their best hard hats and smiles to appear on camera to illustrate the WorkSafeBC safety guidelines. Western's Chief Forester, Stuart Glen, was invited to participate this week in the first annual Indigenous Forestry Conference - IFC in Port Alberni. Stuart spoke to the benefits of holistic forest and ecosystem planning processes, recently developed in collaboration with First Nations. The updated approaches integrate Indigenous knowledge, professional expertise, and local data to help ensure the long-term stewardship of cultural, economic, and environmental values. MP for Carleton, Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, and running to be Prime Minister of Canada
These beautiful greenhouses in Saanichton are maintained by the hard workers at Western Forest Products who replant our forests for sustainable high-quality Canadian lumber. Common sense Conservatives will get a deal to end the US tariffs and bring home our softwood money and jobs: https://lnkd.in/dPJR7GAR

So cool to see our WFP Truestyle yellow cedar being laid down on trails on #GrouseMountain! The durability of yellow cedar means that BC and international cyclists are going to be enjoying these bridges and tracks for years to come. 🔨 A job well done by the teams at #GravityLogix and #Goldendirttrails 👏
