As we continue expanding our fleet, we remain committed to providing reliable, affordable access to more domestic and global destinations. To meet growing demand, we're adding a range of aircraft that may differ in configuration from the rest of our fleet. To bridge the gap for Premium guests during this transition, we're introducing a temporary Premium option on select new-to-WestJet Boeing 737 aircraft starting October 27. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we are honoured to be the official airline partner of the Canadian Cancer Society and the CIBC Run for the Cure. This month, WestJetters can proudly wear pink to show their support. Our scarves and ties are especially meaningful, featuring the names of those who have bravely faced breast cancer—submitted by WestJetters across our organization. We invite you to join us in wearing pink throughout October, and we hope to see you on Sunday, October 6, 2024, for the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure. Today, we acknowledge and honour National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day, a time to recognize the devastating impact of residential schools, remember the missing children and uplift the voices of survivors. Orange Shirt Society is a non-profit organization founded in 2015 by Phyllis Webstad to raise awareness of the lasting impacts of residential schools. The orange shirt is a symbol of the intergenerational impact of the stripping away of culture, freedom and self-esteem experienced by Indigenous communities across Canada. Today, we encourage all Canadians to wear orange to honour the thousands of Survivors of residential schools and remember that Every Child Matters. Learn more about how to support Orange Shirt Society on their page and about our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation on our NewsRoom. #TruthAndReconciliation #EveryChildMatters #OrangeShirtDay

We’ve partnered with Hope Air to Haul for Hope in four Western cities across Canada. Teams of 10-12 people will race against the clock to pull one of our Q400 airplanes. Funds raised at the event will assist Hope Air to provide free medical travel support, including flights and accommodations for Canadians in financial need who must travel far from home to receive vital medical care. To kick off their Western Canada tour, our CEO, Alexis von Hoensbroech, CEO of The Calgary Airport Authority Chris Dinsdale and De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited’s General Counsel Jake Hoeppner went head-to-head with their respective teams in pulling one of our Q400s across 100m in Calgary. We’ll be in Edmonton, Kelowna and Vancouver next! Learn more about Hope Air’s mission and how to support the cause: https://lnkd.in/g657zRAG
