🎉 What an incredible journey! I am happy to share that our team, Carbon Captors, won the 2024 SPE/Untapped Energy CCUS and Carbon Capture Datathon! 🏆 🙏 Working with Abid Torrealba, Chahat Aggarwal, Marcelo Mathias, Michael Mislan, and Mohammad Javad Raei was an enriching experience. Each of us brought something unique to the table, and we solved an interesting problem of "Projecting carbon capture and storage (CCUS) project requirements". 💡How we solved it: ✅ The journey began with us digging deep to figure out the exact problem statement; this took quite a bit of time because it was not clearly defined. ✅ Then, we moved on to finding the right datasets based on our analysis, and trust me, that took some serious teamwork. From there, it was all about data cleaning and serious data analysis! ✅ Then came the exciting part: implementing a time series model to project CO2 till 2050 and estimate the numbers for the CCUS project.
