🚀 Exciting Research Update! 🐄 💥 We're thrilled to see how cutting-edge technology is advancing the field of veterinary science! The recent study  "Mastitis induces proteomic cargo changes in a subpopulation of CD81 extracellular vesicles in milk" by Mara Saenz de Juano Ribes et al. (2024) has made incredible strides in the fight against mastitis in dairy cattle. Using Acytronix's portable microstructured electrochemical device (PMED), researchers were able to isolate specific subpopulations of milk-derived CD81 extracellular vesicles (EVs) and analyze their proteomic cargo.  🔬 Why does this matter? Mastitis is a major concern in dairy farming, but EVs in milk can serve as non-invasive biomarkers, helping with early disease detection and cattle health management. With traditional ultracentrifugation methods being slow and limited, Acytronix’s PMED technology offers a faster and more precise way to distinguish clinically relevant EVs. 🌱Project Announcement🌱 Acytronix is pleased to share that we’ve embarked on a new Innovation check project in collaboration with Dr. Mara Saenz de Juano Ribes from the Animal Physiology Group 🐄 at ETH Zurich. This project focuses on validating and calibrating our PMED technology to help separate EVs (extracellular vesicles) from raw cow’s milk 🥛, with the aim of contributing to early disease diagnosis in cattle. We’re hopeful that this work could make a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of dairy animals. We had a great time at the ETH Zürich SWS bio laboratory summer get-together! It was inspiring to connect with fellow innovators in the life sciences sector and share our vision for Acytronix. The atmosphere was lively and creative as we interacted with other startups and spin-offs, including 8inks, IMAI MedTech, Ariya Bio, Tandem Therapeutics, Digit Soil, Openversum, Biosimo Chemicals, and Recolony AG.
