This winter, our U.S. team has been on the road engaging with farmers, suppliers, customers and partners at key grower events. From the NW Horticulture Expo, the Far West Agribusiness Association Annual Meeting, the Potato Expo in Orlando, and the Washington and Oregon Potato Show, the Atlas Agro booth was a hub of activity with curious attendees interested in information about our company and products. We caught up with our head agronomist, Jason Ellsworth to learn more about the most common questions he hears from growers and customers. READ MORE: https://lnkd.in/gHpjxH-V

Feeding the world whilst accelerating the move towards sustainable food and farming
Info
Atlas Agro was founded to feed the world, and to drive agriculture towards sustainable practices. We develop, build and operate renewable nitrogen fertilizer plants globally. Each of our plants will feed the equivalent of 16 million people only from the excess crop production afforded by our fertilizer. Almost as important as food security is climate. All current fertilizer plants produce nitrogen based on carbon emitting processes. Current producers emit, on average, several tons of CO2 per ton of product, whereas Atlas Agro produces with zero emissions. We use only air, water and renewable energy to produce the nutrition that the crops need

Our co-founder and president of South America, Knut Karlsen had the pleasure of joining Terje Bakken from ATOME, Mauricio Medici from Stamicarbon, and Joao Paulo Braz from Porto do Açu on stage at the Fertilizer Latino Americano conference in Rio de Janeiro this week. 🇧🇷 They shared insights and project updates during their panel discussion, "The Outlook for Green Ammonia, Ammonia Projects & New Production Technologies." "Atlas Agro is making significant progress with our groundbreaking project in Uberaba, Minas Gerais, marked by the initiation of engineering work, a strategic renewable energy agreement with Casa dos Ventos Energias Renováveis, participation in two key decarbonization platforms—Industrial Transition Accelerator (ITA) and the Brazil Investment Platform (BIP), shortlisting as a hydrogen hub by Ministério de Minas e Energia, and the signing of critical product offtake agreements. Looking ahead, we anticipate reaching several new milestones as we approach COP30 in Brazil later this year." -Knut Karlsen, Atlas Agro co-founder and president of South America. The FLA conference, a CRU and Argus Media collaboration, is Latin America’s premier fertilizer event attracting global leaders in the sector. We are grateful for the opportunity to share our story with so many industry leaders. It was a whirlwind week for our CEO, Petter Østbø and North American President, Dan Holmes, who made the short drive from our Zug HQ to Davos for the 2025 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting. As global leaders gathered this week to tackle some of the world's most pressing challenges, we are making sure the fertilizer industry has a leading voice in the conversation. With our first of a kind Pacific Green Fertilizer (PGF) plant in Richland, Wash. and Uberaba Green Fertilizer (UGF) in Brazil, we’re setting new standards in green fertilizer production with a focus on local manufacturing, job creation, minimizing foreign imports and innovative technology. We’re delivering solutions that meet the growing global demand for sustainable agriculture, and are proud to be part of the solution, transforming not just how we grow food but how we care for the planet. Together, we’re building a better future. 🌱 #Davos2025 #WEF2025 #EnergyTransition #Sustainability #GreenFertilizer #AmericanMade #ClimateAction

Thanks to the Northwest Environmental Business Council for hosting us at the Business & Environment Conference in Portland this week. Our Gina Zejdlik joined her esteemed panelists Jason H. from NovoHydrogen, Chris Green from the Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Association (PNWH2) and Penny Machinski from Portland General Electric, to discuss what it takes to develop the Pacific Northwest's ambitious initiative to develop renewable hydrogen resources. It was a full house of curious and engaged audience members interested in learning more about what it takes to move these ambitious plans from big ideas to becoming a reality. It takes collaboration. Visionaries, regulators, environmentalists, local state and and federal government agencies, elected officials, business leaders, investors -- it's all hands on deck to accelerate the green industrial transition. We hope you'll join us on our journey. #PacificGreenFertilizer #PGF #PNWH2 #GreenHydrogen #H2 #GreenFertilizer

Coming out of COP29 Azerbaijan, our CEO Petter Østbø reflects on the various market interventions needed to radically accelerate the industrial transition - carrots, sticks and insurance. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙤 𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙣 𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙯𝙚𝙧 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙙𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙩. 𝙒𝙚 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙤 𝙙𝙤 𝙞𝙩. "Atlas Agro is poised to fundamentally change how nitrogen fertilizer is produced with the world’s first at-scale green nitrogen fertilizer plants in the U.S. and Brazil. The idea is simple – local, green nitrogen fertilizer production powered by renewable energy. But decarbonizing nitrogen fertilizer production will require the construction of 800 new green fertilizer plants, each costing more than a billion dollars, and taking three to five years to build. Today there are zero. Without a radical acceleration of new projects, we will not decarbonize in time. While on a longer time horizon, the direction is clear, banks may not be able underwrite projects at the speed or scale we need before there is clear market and regulatory signals demanding green production. Market interventions are needed to bridge the perceived risk of green products and stimulate demand for decarbonization." READ MORE: https://lnkd.in/ghr6nMta

That's a wrap on COP29 Azerbaijan! It has been a busy couple of weeks for Petter Østbø and Claudia Herbert, PhD representing our team in so many critically important discussions about how to develop new tools, technologies and market solutions to more rapidly accelerate industrial decarbonization, specifically in the green nitrogen fertilizer sector. Thank you to our gracious hosts in Baku for inviting us in to listen, learn and share bold ideas. We bring home both new and renewed connections with collaborators and co-conspirators who share our vision of rapid, global industrial decarbonization. "It's not hard to do. We just need the will to do it." - Petter Østbø As we look ahead to #COP30 in Brazil, we are doubling down on our commitment to rapidly accelerate global fertilizer decarbonization beginning with the world's first at-scale green nitrogen fertilizer plants - #PacificGreenFertilzer in Richland, Washington U.S. and #UberabaGreenFertilizer in Brazil. Our projects will deliver reliable, locally produced green nitrogen fertilizer to farmers, maximize yields, strengthen food security, minimize reliance on fertilizer imports, and create jobs and economic development opportunities in the communities where we live and work. We hope you'll join us on our journey.
