Maikel Zijlaard takes his first professional victory in the 2.3km prologue of Tour de Romandie, riding the course in 2’55”43 with an average speed of 46.788km/h!   Putting a cyclist who is fast on the flat and quick in the corners, onto the Teammachine R – a bike that’s capable of the same - is how Tudor Pro Cycling generated enough speed to take the win.   "This is my first professional victory, and my first in the WorldTour. I can't believe it either. I wanted to win so badly for the team as we have been working so hard for this. Marco Brenner wins stage 1 of Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali! The German attacked on the last descent with 4.5 kilometers to go keeping off the chasing Peloton. This marks the first professional victory in Marco's career and the second for the Team in 2024. Insight from DS Morgan Lamoisson: “The attack was planned already some weeks ago, when we saw that the finale would be for sprinters and we had none for this race. The riders did a recon of the final 25km two times, one yesterday and one this morning (as today’s stage was short) and the plan was perfectly executed. Luc was in the breakaway, and the other guys protected Marco in the final climbs to be in the best position for the descent, where he had to attack.
