Seit längerer Zeit läuft die Umstellung von herkömmlichen Stromzählern auf sogenannte Smart Meter. Im Raum Zürich ist enersuisse für die Umsetzung zuständig. Im Rahmen dieses Projekts hat ETH juniors zusammen mit enersuisse KPIs zur Überwachung des Fortschritts der Umstellung sowie der von den Smart Meter Geräten gesammelten Daten erarbeitet. In einem zweiten Schritt hat ETH juniors ein Dashboard für das Management von enersuisse zur Visualisierung dieser KPIs implementiert.

Geleitet von engagierten Studierenden bearbeitet ETH juniors Projekte von Unternehmen, analysiert Problemstellungen und entwirft kreative Lösungen abseits gewohnter Muster. ETH juniors übernimmt sowohl von KMU's als auch von internationalen Konzernen Aufträge, für welche diesen kurzfristig die Kapazitäten oder das notwendige Wissen fehlen. Neuartige Ideen werden eingebracht und Bestehendes aus einer anderen, externen Perspektive beleuchtet. Just yesterday I came across an AI ad 📺 for „instant websites“. Oh wow, how cool! To have your taylor-made website up and running in a few seconds? But is it really that simple? From very current experience I know that there are some rather time consuming steps required beforehand. Which leads me to the following casual Thursday reflections: 📣 What does it REALLY take to set up a good website? ⬇️ Focus on the following ✋🏻five essential pre-steps: 💟purpose of the website: what do you want to achieve with your website? Who is your target group👥 and what do they need? 🧭 market analysis: what does already exist and what’s your unique selling proposition🙌🏻? How to position your brand? 📒 structure and content: what content do you want to make available, how and where (sitemap, navigation)? 💰budget, timing and reality check: what has to be ready by when? And what can be 🧟♀️realistically achieved with what you have? 🧭🔮strategy: how dependent do you want to make yourself from third party providers considering grow plans and need to quickly add custom-made features? What is your data strategy🧑🏽💻? How to measure whether your website achieves its goals (🍪cookies and metrics)? In sum, you need a concept first. Very proud to announce that the Swiss Financial Innovation Desk (FIND) worked together with ETH juniors and has now finalized the website concept for FIND. Special thanks to Andrin Melliger and Maximilian K. from ETH juniors who link academic innovation and industry needs. Together with our very own FIND tekkie talent André Lergier, they transformed the university‘s vast knowledge into a practical business application concept which can be brought to live over the next months (and - reality check☺️ - years).
