  • International Women’s Day 2025 The FIM join United Nations Women’s global campaign #ForAllWomenAndGirls calling for action that can unlock equal rights, power and opportunities for all where no one is left behind. Central to this vision is empowering the next generation—youth, particularly young women and adolescent girls—as catalysts for lasting change. The FIM is committed to making motorcycling an open, inclusive and benevolent environment for all to develop sports and activities for women. The year 2025 is a pivotal moment in the global pursuit of gender equality and women’s empowerment, as it marks the thirtieth anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. International Women’s Day is a rallying cry to take action in three key areas: Advance women’s and girls’ rights: Fight relentlessly for women’s and girls’ full range of human rights, challenging all forms of violence, discrimination, and exploitation. Promote gender equality: Address systemic barriers, dismantle patriarchy, transform entrenched inequities, and elevate the voices of marginalised women and girls, including young people, to ensure inclusivity and empowerment. Foster empowerment: Redefine power structures by ensuring inclusive access to education, employment, leadership, and decision-making spaces. Prioritise opportunities for young women and girls to lead and innovate. Janika Judeika, Director of FIM Women Commission: “On this International Women’s Day, we honour the incredible strength, resilience, and accomplishments of women and girls around the world. In motorcycling, as in all fields, true progress comes when diversity is celebrated, and barriers are dismantled. As we reflect on the thirtieth anniversary of the Beijing Declaration, we reaffirm our promise to champion gender equality, foster leadership, and create pathways for young women to thrive - both on and off the track. Empowerment isn’t just an ambition; it’s a shared duty. Together, let’s accelerate towards a world where every woman has the freedom and support to chart her own course and success.” Jorge Viegas, FIM President: “This important initiative supports and reinforces the FIM’s ongoing and real commitment to making motorcycling in all its various forms, open and inclusive for all. Our FIM Women’s Commissions continues to work hard in this regard, and this year is being part of International Women’s Day by adding its own voice to the #ForAllWomenAndGirls digital campaign with an empowering video that showcases what we - FIM Family - strive for daily to make motorcycling a better place for all women and girls."Together, we can be the generation to close the gap to achieve gender equality. #FIM#Motorcycles#Motorcycling#IWD#EqualChances#EqualRights

  • United Against Online Abuse Webinar As part of the FIM Future Leaders Programme, the FIM hosted an exclusive United Against Online Abuse (UAOA) Campaign Webinar on 25 February, 2025. The event featured Erin Bourke, Project Leader of the FIA – Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile's United Against Online Abuse Campaign, as the keynote speaker. During the webinar, Erin Bourke delivered an insightful presentation on the UAOA campaign, a global coalition initiated by FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem. Supported by the FIA Foundation and the European Union, UAOA unites sporting organisations, governments, technology platforms, and regulatory bodies in the fight against the growing issue of online abuse in sports. United Against Online Abuse Campaign Webinar: https://lnkd.in/d388QJUb In July 2023, the FIM signed a Charter for collaboration with the FIA as part of this global coalition to counter online abuse in sports. This partnership demonstrates the shared commitment of both organisations to create a safer online environment through collaboration, policy development, and regulatory action. The webinar focused on several key issues: • The impact of online abuse on athletes, officials, and the broader sporting community. • Strategies for combating digital harassment through advocacy, education, and innovation. • Key findings from Erin Bourke’s research on the impact of hate speech on FIA officials, with data to be shared soon with the community. • Inaugural Conference on Motorcycle Sport Communication in Europe proves successful! On Saturday 22 February the first edition of the Conference on Motorcycle Sport Communication in Europe took place with the aim to share and deepen experiences and methods of communication. With the primary aim of deepening and refining communication practices, the event provided a valuable opportunity to address the challenges faced by media professionals in covering motorcycle sports. The day started with the institutional presentations from the FIM, delivered by Damiano Zamana, FIM Deputy CEO and Operations Director; FIM Europe, presented by Alessandro Sambuco, FIM Europe Secretary General; and FMI, introduced by President Giovanni Copioli. Then, the stage was taken by Communications Managers: Isabelle Larivière from FIM, Dalila Agrati from FIM Europe, and Francesco Dragonetti from FMI. An analysis of opportunities and risks was addressed from the photographic point of view with Lorenzo Resta, a professional MXGP photographer, and the journalistic side with Federico Porrozzi, Motosprint Director. Plans are underway to make this an annual event, ensuring continued progress and collaboration within the industry. Damiano Zamana “The initiative of FIM Europe to organise this first workshop goes in the direction of the FIM to be transparent and get closer to all the stakeholders within the motorcycling community. It has been a great opportunity to know better the FIM, FIM Europe and FMI on some topics that do not always reach the mainstream of communication but are fundamental for the organisation of the sport we love(...)." Alessandro Sambuco “The pressing push to deal with issues related to technological development (AI) that proceeds at an exponential speed has forced us to hold this first Conference on Motorcycling Communication in Europe. The need to deal with AI was certainly not the only need. Also, the topics of the positioning of the Motorcycling Institutions within the international sports system, the description of their governance, their characteristic activities and the communication of the various entities operating in the motorcycling world (FMNs, specialised press, teams, fairs, circuits, etc.) needed to be presented and clarified.” Giovanni Copioli- “The conference was an opportunity to share experiences and points of view with leading national and international players in communication. It was an appointment where FIM, FIM Europe and FMI showed their willingness to engage with journalists and press offices to contribute to the growth and development of motorcycling. I conclude by thanking the FIM and FIM Europe for organising this event in Italy (...)." #FIM | #Motorcycling | #Motorcycles | Federazione Motociclistica Italiana | FIM Europe - European Motorcycling Union

  • Eight new instructors earn FIM Certification in Mies   On 10 February 2025, eight new instructors successfully completed the FIM Instructor Certificate programme at the FIM Headquarters in Mies, Switzerland. This milestone strengthens the FIM’s growing pool of skilled instructors, whose roles are crucial to the organisation’s mission.   At the same time, a new Module one session took place with thirteen instructors in attendance, marking the beginning of their certification journey. The participants benefited from insightful sessions led by John Zimmer, who guided them through Module one, and Tobias Rodrigues, who shared his expertise during Module two.   This achievement follows another milestone in Lyon, France, where in February 2024, fourteen instructors completed the final module of the FIM Instructor Certificate programme. After successfully finishing their training, they were awarded their certificates at the end of the event.   The certificates were presented by FIM Deputy CEO and Operations Director, Mr. Damiano Zamana, in recognition of their hard work and dedication.   The FIM Instructor Certification process, launched in 2022, is a comprehensive three-year programme designed to sharpen the skills of instructors.   Its key objectives include: · Providing tools to effectively present and prepare engaging materials. · Encouraging the sharing of experiences across FIM Commissions on running successful seminars. · Addressing modern challenges, such as recruiting and retaining officials, and attracting a new generation of officials through dynamic, technology-driven seminars.   Additionally, a third group of eleven instructors who began their certification in 2024 participated in an online Inter-Module Workshop in January, keeping them on track for completion.   With the continued success of the FIM Instructor Certificate programme, the FIM remains committed to developing skilled and dynamic instructors who will play a key role in shaping the future of its officials and seminars #FIMacademy#FIM#Motorcycling#Motorcycles
