Supporting Ukrainian children: What did we learn at the first PFA Connect session? After joining the inaugural PFA Connect session on 29 January 2025, professionals from all over Europe have just received detailed learning points documenting practical learning for: 1️⃣ Preventing and addressing violence among children and adolescents 2️⃣ Supporting very young children (under 3) who have experienced military incidents 3️⃣ Maintaining professional resilience while helping others 4️⃣ Engaging parents in supporting children in crisis You too can join to benefit from what we are learning together. PFA Connect is a new peer learning platform linking practitioners across Europe who support children affected by the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. Peer learning come directly from education professionals, mental health specialists, social workers, and Red Cross staff from Ukraine and 27 other European countries that are developing innovative approaches in their daily work with Ukrainian children. The platform focuses on psychological first aid (PFA) - a practical approach to supporting children experiencing crisis-related distress by creating safe spaces, listening without pressure to talk, addressing immediate needs, and connecting children with appropriate support services. Plus de 4000 organisations locales de santé du réseau #TeachToReach pourraient contribuer à définir les priorités de financement mondial sur le climat et la santé, suite à une mobilisation lancée le 5 février 2025. Voir la séance: https://lnkd.in/e4-NmqsH Cette initiative participative, pilotée par Grands Défis Canada en partenariat avec la Fondation Apprendre Genève, marque-t-il l’amorce d’un changement dans la façon dont les bailleurs de fonds internationaux consultent les acteurs de terrain? "C'est une enquête inédite, sans précédent, [on] est en train de récolter les idées sur le changement climatique, sur la santé," explique Aziz Froutan de Grands Défis Canada. "Nous n'avons plus aucune maîtrise des saisons climatiques," témoigne Dr Maïmouna Kangouté de Côte d'Ivoire. Au Cameroun, Dr Jean-Claude Akono-Emanet rapporte des épidémies de choléra liées aux inondations qui ont forcé des familles dans des camps. L'initiative examine les changements climatiques locaux, leurs impacts sanitaires, et les obstacles aux soins. Les résultats seront présentés en septembre-octobre 2025.
