{DEV_COMMUNITY} 10x faster aircraft production inspection! With worldwide demand for aircraft at an all-time high, methods are needed to improve production speed and quality. Khalifa University Advanced Research and Innovation Center (ARIC) and STRATA Manufacturing PJSC have developed a high-speed system for hole countersink inspection in aerospace structures. Using the iniVation DVXplorer, the system achieves breakthrough speed while maintaining high precision of <0.03 mm. Countersink inspection is of significant importance in aerospace and automotive assembly lines. Given the challenges posed by existing frame-based vision methods, which can lead to time-consuming processes due to motion blur, the team of researchers at Khalifa University's Advanced Research and Innovation Center developed an event-based approach to address these issues by integrating motion compensation for precise detection.
