Unveiling our latest feature in The Peak Singapore! Highlighting our modular approach to #EUDR compliance, helping businesses leverage technology and solutions to meet regulations and rising consumer demands for corporate transparency. Here’s the highlight from the media piece:       🌳 Why Deforestation is a Big Deal: Between 2010 and 2020, the world experienced an average net loss of 4.7 million hectares of forests annually due to #deforestation. A significant factor behind this is the conversion of forests into land for agriculture (such as palm oil, cattle, soy, coffee, cocoa, timber, and rubber). This leads to biodiversity loss, exacerbates climate change, and devastating climate-related disasters.      🔍 How Stringent Rules Curb Global Deforestation: The environmental impact of deforestation has driven the EU to enforce the EUDR to combat this issue. To comply, companies must gather detailed data on product origins, implement risk mitigation strategies such as audits, and maintain transparent reporting on their processes, with documentation required for at least five years.      🏢 Implications for Businesses: With the December 2024 deadline looming, all industries that engage with commodities—palm oil, cattle, soy, coffee, cocoa, timber, rubber, and derivatives products—must act now to comply with the EUDR, safeguarding access to the EU market.       🌍 How Our Modular Solutions Can Help: Through our #KoltiTrace, #KoltiSkills, and #KoltiVerify solutions, we provide end-to-end support for EUDR compliance—from data collection and risk assessments to verification and generating Due Diligence Statements as the EU Authorized Representative.       We’d like to thank The Peak Magazine for showcasing our work, made possible through the dedicated outreach efforts of Steven Lim, our Public Relations & Event Officer. Supporting Sustainable Palm Oil Projects in the World's Largest Producing Country! 🌴 In 2021, Indonesia produced 46 million tonnes of crude #palmoil, exporting over 58% of its production and contributing 59% of total global exports, cementing its place as the world's largest producer and exporter (Trase, n.d). However, with palm oil's global demand comes the challenge of #deforestation— an issue that saw over 30,000 hectares of forest cleared in 2023 to make way for plantations (Mongabay, 2024). 🌳  To combat this, public pressure and campaigns by environmental NGOs and consumer groups have led businesses to commit to achieving sustainable palm oil with #NDPE (No Deforestation, No Peat, No Exploitation) policies and adapt to new regulations, the EU Deforestation Regulation (#EUDR), which mandates #traceability and deforestation-free #supplychains for palm oil entering the EU market. At Koltiva, we are at the forefront of promoting #sustainablepalmoil production by supporting businesses in achieving traceability, transparency, and a responsible supply chain. We work with clients from various industries—including FMCG, palm oil cultivation companies, and NGOs—to help them overcome challenges in achieving sustainable palm oil across 12 provinces in Indonesia. Our milestones in supporting client businesses include surveying and mapping producers and their plots to ensure traceability, capacity building, and certification support. What businesses gain from using our services:  🌍 Comprehensive data from our surveys and producer/farm plot mappings, ensuring traceability through the KoltiTrace MIS dashboard. This is conducted by our Boots-on-the-Ground, who visit the field and engage with producers, traders, and processors to ensure traceability throughout the supply chain.  🌱 Capacity building for producers of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) results in more sustainable practices in the field, which leads to better yields.  📜 Facilitation in obtaining certifications such as #ISPO (mandatory for Indonesian palm oil producers) and #RSPO.  🛰️ Verification of farm plot deforestation using our Land Use Tracker feature on the #KoltiTraceMIS, generating due diligence reports for EUDR compliance.  ✅ Ensuring business data is ready, complete, and compliant with EUDR. Our technology seamlessly integrates with your ERP system for efficient data verification. Want to learn more about how we can help your businesses to achieve sustainable palm oil? Connect with our palm oil expert, Fahreza Hidayat (Head of Sector Palm Oil, Coconut, & Landscapes), or contact us to learn more about how our expertise can benefit your business.

As we honor Indonesia’s #IndependenceDay, it’s a timely moment to reflect on what independence truly means, particularly for our #agriculture sector. Central to the Government’s mission of food security and economic growth, agriculture grew by 1.46% (yoy) in Q3 2023, contributing 13.57% to the nation’s GDP—an achievement that wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of the hardworking producers who tirelessly safeguard national food security. (Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, 2024). Looking ahead, the agriculture sector remains a key driver of national economic growth.    At Koltiva, we believe true independence also comes from equipping producers with the support to excel. It’s about empowering them to navigate global challenges—shifting market dynamics or #climatechange. As a global company with deep Indonesian roots, since 2013, we’ve supported businesses to build sustainable, #traceable #supplychains in their projects across 26 provinces of Indonesia and 7 key commodities—cocoa, rubber, palm oil, coffee, seaweed, dairy, and cassia.      Our commitment to empowering smallholder producers is driven by innovative technology and inclusive access through one-stop solutions for producers, #KoltiTrace #FarmCloud application. This platform offers comprehensive support and access that includes:      🌐 Access to Knowledge: Equipped with e-learning features, allows producers to easily access Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) training and a module to guide them in tending their land using #sustainable practices. Additionally, our expert agronomist and Boots-on-the-Ground team provides personalized coaching, guiding producers in adopting sustainable practices that benefit their livelihoods and the environment.       🌱 Access to Agri-Inputs: Offers a streamlined platform for purchasing high-quality agri-inputs, including a “pay later” option. This ensures that producers can effectively tend to their crops and maximize yields.       💰 Access to Finance: We promote financial literacy and inclusivity by offering access to a closed-loop financial system, enabling stability and growth for smallholder producers.       🛒 Access to Sustainable Markets: We ensure that producers are connected to sustainable markets by linking them directly with traders via KoltiTrace FarmCloud and providing real-time pricing updates to keep them competitive and informed.      By equipping producers with these essential tools and support, we’re not only fostering economic progress but also honoring the true spirit of independence that drives our nation forward. Happy Independence Day!

🌊 The global challenges of Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated Fishing (#IUUF)—which make up as much as 20% of the world’s total catch and potentially 40% in some developing nations (FAO, 2021)—alongside #labor exploitation, have a profound and far-reaching impact on #seafood supply chains. Addressing these issues is critical to ensuring the industry's #sustainable and ethical future.     These issues were front and center at the Regional Industry Forum and Workshop on Market Access Strategies, hosted by USAID Sustainable Fish Asia Technical Support (SuFiA TS). Representing us at the event were our Head of Sector Aquatic Resources, Sarah Harding, and our Customer Success Officer Thailand, Siriwut Wuttijan. During the forum, Sarah presented the advanced capabilities of our #traceability technology, #KoltiTraceMIS, showcasing its features for tackling human rights and labor challenges. Additionally, Sarah highlighted our AI chatbot, seamlessly integrated into the producers' mobile app, and #KoltiSkills, our extension service that equips producers with the risk mitigation, training, and business support needed for a sustainable #supplychain.    The forum brought together key industry players, including international seafood and technology companies, industry associations, buyers, investors, and NGOs. Key insights from the event include:     🔍 Leveraging Technology for #Risk Analysis: The importance of using technology to detect trends, anomalies, and potential trade monitoring challenges. Advanced tools like KoltiTrace MIS can play a crucial role in enhancing the monitoring and mitigation of risks related to IUUF.  🛡️ Strengthening #HumanRights Regulation: The fisheries sector remains at high risk for human rights abuses, underscoring the need for robust due diligence frameworks, spurred further by new changes and updates in legislation such as the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (#CSDDD or #CS3D). 📚 Capacity Building: Fisheries actively seek training and capacity-building opportunities, offering our Boots-on-the-Ground team the chance to support sustainable fisheries management.     ⚓ Prioritizing Occupational Health and Safety (OHS): Ratifying international standards like Convention 188 (C188) across APAC countries is key to improving fishers' working conditions.  📜 Addressing Certification Challenges: Fisheries often struggle with the certification process; utilizing our extension service, KoltiSkills, we can guide smallholder fisheries through this journey. As the event highlighted the urgent need for digital solutions to transform the seafood industry, it aligns with our commitment to support businesses in enhancing traceability, optimizing supply chains, and ensuring sustainability in the seafood sector with our solutions. 🌴 Driving Sustainable Palm Oil Production with Advanced Traceability Solutions 🌍 In today's interconnected world, the demand for sustainably produced #palmoil has never been more critical. The palm oil industry plays a significant role in global agriculture, but it's imperative that we balance this with #environmental responsibility and social equity. This is where #traceability solutions come into play, transforming the way we produce and source palm oil. Why Traceability Matters?   🔍 Transparency and Accountability: It allows us to track the journey of palm oil from plantation to end product. This transparency ensures that all stakeholders, from producers to consumers, can verify the origins and sustainability of the palm oil used. 🌿 Environmental Protection: By identifying and monitoring sustainable practices, traceability helps in preserving biodiversity, protecting forests, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It enables companies to ensure their supply chains are deforestation-free and compliant with environmental standards. 👩🌾 Empowering Producers: Traceability provides smallholder producers with the tools and information needed to adopt sustainable practices. This not only improves their livelihoods but also contributes to the overall sustainability of the industry. 🛒 Consumer Trust: Modern consumers are increasingly conscious of the environmental and ethical impact of their purchases. Traceability systems build trust by providing clear, verifiable information about the sustainability of products. Learn how our end-to-end approach benefits all stakeholders and contributes to a more sustainable palm oil supply chain. Wrapping up our participation at the Salón del Cacao y Chocolate Perú Internacional 2024, where Switzerland held the esteemed position of guest country. We showcased our commitment to sustainable #cocoa practices at the Swiss Pavilion alongside fellow Swiss companies such as Research Institute of Organic Agriculture FiBL, ECOTOP, SGS Perú, and Choba Choba Foundation.    This event presented a valuable opportunity to deepen our understanding of Peru's cocoa industry, the world's third-largest producer. By engaging with the visitors, we identified key challenges and showcased how our solutions can contribute to a more sustainable #supplychain.    Our Americas team, Silvan Ziegler, Valeria Gálvez, and Pamela Aquino, gained invaluable insights into the industry's needs from the event:  🌍 Our #traceability solutions are well-suited to enhance the competitiveness of Peruvian cocoa in the international market. With trends emphasizing single-origin cocoa and #sustainable cocoa, businesses are required to verify the origin of their crops to ensure transparency, quality, and adherence to sustainability standards.  📦 Exporting cocoa to the EU market, a top cocoa consumer, requires compliance with #EUDR standards. Businesses and cooperatives in Peru showed great interest in learning more about EUDR and how to comply with it. With our expertise and position as a Trusted Global Partner for EUDR compliance, we can support businesses throughout Latin America in meeting these stringent requirements.  🛠️ Our holistic solutions address beyond EUDR compliance to include traceability, data collection, assessment, certification, and polygon mapping. These comprehensive services help Peruvian businesses thrive internationally while adhering to sustainability standards.    It was a pleasure connecting with so many passionate professionals at the Salón del Cacao y Chocolate Internacional 2024.
