In the United States, a person’s ethnic background, socioeconomic status, gender, sexual orientation, legal status, or mental and physical capabilities can make someone more or less likely to die of certain diseases, have a shorter life expectancy, and be vulnerable to serious physical and emotional harm than another. ➡️ The U.S. spends almost one-fifth of its GDP on healthcare yet has poorer health outcomes than other nations that spend much less. ➡️ The country spends more on healthcare per person than any other country but is at or near the bottom in the rankings of industrialised countries for health indicators. ➡️ The country also ranks poorly on health equity, with significant disparities in morbidity and mortality by race, income, and geography. Reos Partners supported the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) in convening a multi-stakeholder team to examine the systems and relationships that produce individual and community health and illness. Together, we developed scenarios for the future of health care in the US. Learn more about the possible scenarios for health and health care in the US in this case study. ➡️ https://hubs.li/Q02NPRLM0 #HealthEquity #HealthEquityMatters #HealthOutcomes #HealthcareEquity #TransformativeScenarios

While supporting START International’s ProGREEN Project, we had the privilege to engage with a group of diverse knowledge holders and practitioners working on issues related to climate action. We asked them about their experience of what can get in the way of collaborating across differences. Common across their responses were three deficits: 1️⃣ Deficits in shared understanding 2️⃣ Trust deficits 3️⃣ Deficits in mutual respect Learn how you can overcome these deficits on an individual and collective level in this article by Karen Goldberg of Reos Partners: https://hubs.ly/Q02RGjpx0 #RadicalCollaboration

To respond to Haiti’s political crises, poverty, food insecurity, and other issues, a network of citizens launched a platform for change known as Kafou Lespwa (Crossroads of Hope). Their goal was to transform Haitian society into a more equitable and prosperous community. To help participants share their views on current realities and create scenarios for different possible futures, the group invited Reos Partners to guide them using transformative scenarios. This approach allowed the group to widen its system understanding and hold strategic conversations for change. “We needed Reos to help us collaborate together with people who agree that they want to solve this complex situation, but don’t know how to do it,” said Charles Clermont, Entrepreneur, Financial Literacy and Leadership Development Educator, and Community Builder. “Moreover, people who do not really trust each other, or know each other, people who believe that they will never be able to collaborate.” The project received national attention in Haiti and its leaders are recognised as credible, trusted outliers within this polarised space. They use what they have learned to reach new audiences and raise awareness of Kafou Lespwa with an open invitation for citizens to join their collaborative movement towards a more just society.
