🌾As the organisers of the 2nd European Carbon Farming Summit under Project Credible, we’re at the centre of efforts to shape the future of regenerative agriculture in Europe. Beyond hosting the summit in March, we’re leading the sustainable transition by supporting innovative projects related to carbon farming: ✅ With the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, we’re helping Ireland set new standards for agricultural innovation. ✅ As part of Climate Farm Demo, we’re supporting 1,500 farmers across 27 countries to adopt climate-smart farming practices. ✅ Within our organisation, we're developing a fund to accelerate the adoption of credible carbon removals. ✅ Our role in the HarvRESt project helps to connect renewable energy technologies with sustainable farming. ✅ In ClieNFarms, we’re co-developing scalable solutions for climate-neutral and climate-resilient farms. ✅ Our work with Informa Forests advances sustainable forest management through carbon certification methodologies. 📖 Read the article below to learn more about these projects and find out why this year’s summit in Dublin matters more than ever. https://lnkd.in/eenmgdi5 ➡️ In-person summit tickets are sold out! The city of Utrecht, The Netherlands, is promoting a more community-centric approach to urban design by temporarily transforming car parking spaces into bike parking zones, green spaces and areas for residents to meet. Leading the project is Els Hulscher, Project Manager at Gemeente Utrecht. “In many urban areas, the car has long been an overly dominant feature of the landscape. In Utrecht, we want to create more community-oriented environments, which is why it’s essential to reconsider the use of public space.” The city council hopes the project will encourage more meaningful community interactions and demonstrate the potential for long-lasting changes in urban planning to reclaim spaces for people and nature. 🌿 We are proud to collaborate with FedEx to support Utrecht through the Sustainable Cities Mobility Challenge. Together, we’re helping cities transition to cleaner, greener and more inclusive transport. Last week, global leaders met in Davos for the annual World Economic Forum to discuss what they consider to be the most pressing global issues. Here are some of the highlights that we took away with us: 1. Artificial Intelligence is one of the hottest topics in Davos. The question is: Could AI make us more human taking over routine tasks so we can focus on more complex, relational roles such as mindset shifts, capacity building, and community engagement? 2. The start of 2025 has already been devastating on the climate front. What we need, some say, is an avalanche of positivity: real examples of how climate action will improve people's health, living conditions, and economic well-being. 3. Public-Private and Philanthropy Partnerships (PPPPs) can work, but we need a system that integrates various financing models in a fair and equitable way. 4. The planet is showing signs of reduced resilience. We’ve surpassed 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, the data “are off the chart”, and scientists cannot fully explain what is happening. 5. Together with 14 other organisations, we launched the Systemic Climate Action Collaborative to accelerate systemic change and turn ambitious visions into reality at the scale and speed this moment demands. Davos is just the first of many high-level gatherings this year. Countries must now submit updated Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), reconvene global discussions on plastic pollution, and follow up on efforts to halt and reverse biodiversity loss. COP30 in Brazil will also be key in addressing climate and nature together. Visit our website to stay updated on how we are contributing to these global efforts: Climate-kic.org
