We are SEED Biosciences, a spinoff from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL). We make DispenCell. One click, one cell. DISPENCELL is an automated laboratory instrument designed for fast, easy, and gentle single cell isolation. DISPENCELL is a pipetting robot designed to be compact, gentle, and intuitive, yet compliant with the most stringent regulatory standards. Designed by scientists for scientists, DISPENCELL has been thought to quickly integrate your lab routine in a plug-and-play approach. Flexible and effortless, DISPENCELL operates equally under sterile conditions in a culture hood, or on a simple benchtop. Its unique technology guarantees gentle dispensing, thus better cell viability and cloning efficiency. A single cell analysis software tool provides immediate and traceable proof of clonality report. DISPENCELL is an enabler for personalized medicine allowing scientists to isolate single cells reliably and cost-effectively by reducing lab time and validation time.

    We are proud to share that we’ve organised the first formal tasting of our Mosa Burger in The Netherlands. Participants included Dutch cattle farmers, food product developers and industry representatives who shared their candid tasting feedback with us. The goals for these tastings include assessing market readiness of products and collecting feedback from culinary experts for product development purposes. Maarten Bosch, our CEO said: "We are delighted to finally share our burgers with experts outside of the company, so they can help us create the best burgers possible. In this first tasting we specifically evaluated the potential of cultivated beef fat as an ingredient in a blend with plant based ingredients, as we know it is responsible for the flavour, aromas, mouthfeel and even sizzle people love from beef. We’ve been able to conclude that our cultivated fat has a very positive impact on the product quality This means that in addition to the cultivated beef for which we have submitted a regulatory approval request in Singapore, we can also elevate the culinary experience of plant based products and delight more beef lovers faster.” #mosaburger #cultivatedmeat #cravechange

    Earlier this month, the SEED Biosciences team attended ISSCR, the most comprehensive gathering in stem cell research. We had a productive time connecting with industry peers and hearing about the latest advances in regenerative medicine and stem cell research. 🧬 🔬 The conference highlighted a clear need for gentle and efficient iPSC isolation technologies to generate iPSC lines that maintain their pluripotency and genomic stability. Our single cell cloning robot DISPENCELL-S4, which was displayed on the stand, handles stem cells such as iPSCs with extremely low pressure, therefore preserving cell viability and maintain stem cell properties during the dispense. We believe that DISPENCELL-S4 will play a crucial role in driving progress in stem cell research and regenerative medicine.     Exciting news! 📣 We're delighted to have contributed our protocol to the latest volume of 'Recombinant Protein Expression in Mammalian Cells'. Written for the highly successful 'Methods in Molecular Biology' series, the previous edition of this prestigious book had over 97,000 accesses. It is the ultimate authoritative guide for researchers investigating protein structure and function and accelerating the discovery of new therapeutic proteins. The SEED Biosciences team is honoured to have its work included in the collection of cutting-edge methods and protocols for the study of recombinant protein expression that set new industry standards, particularly in the field of cell line development. Audrey Berger, Head of Research and Biology at SEED Biosciences, commented: "Here we describe an in depth, optimized protocol for the generation of Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) monoclonal cell lines using DISPENCELL-S3. DISPENCELL-S3 allows a rapid and easy to implement workflow to isolate and grow single cells. A proof of clonality is available thanks to the impedance signature of each dispensed single cell. A 3.2 fold increase in the number of colonies was obtained using DISPENCELL-S3 compared to the classical limiting dilution protocol."
