Deep tech stands as a hedge in volatile times: while RT drops 60% from its 2021 peak, deep tech falls only 28%. Hello Tomorrow 2025 Summit in Paris at CENTQUATRE-PARIS this week was fantastic. During the Deep Tech Days 3000 leaders from deep tech exchanged ideas.💡 Hervé Flutto and Thomas Minot from the sparksense team managed to join the key events such as BPI EIC Investor Day, 50 Years Investor Breakfast, Honda Xcelerator Ventures Breakfast, Founders Lunch by Elaia and VC Lunch. Here are the valuable insights we gathered at the events: ▪️The HT 2025 Deep Tech Report confirms that #hardware outperforms #software among deep tech pioneers at Hello Tomorrow. ▪️The deep tech flywheel continues its momentum as #Europe narrows the gap with the #US on repeat founders and business focus. ▪️Deep tech secures 28% of total #VC investments, with a clear ambition to build global champions. ▪️A strong push on sovereignty and dual use military appeared, US funds show a solid appetite for European deep tech 🇺🇸🇪🇺. ▪️At the same time, European funds remain small, with only 2 managing more than EUR 2 bn compared to 15 US funds that exceed EUR 10 bn. ▪️Nicolas Autret pointed out a rise in photonics startups dedicated to energy efficiency for data centers, along with a new wave in robotics that tackles labor shortages.
