At our upcoming event Data for Health, you can now select up to three ateliers to attend. In these interactive sessions, members of the National Data Stream projects present hands-on insight on working with real life clinical data and share exiting preliminary findings. Other teams present insights on genomics in Switzerland, sustainable data governance and how practical ethical issues can be addressed. You can find a full description of the ateliers here: https://lnkd.in/eGUSXQK3 Each atelier has limited spots, so be sure to reserve your place early. You can sign up for the ateliers via the confirmation email sent to you after registration for the event. Looking forward to seeing you there! #DataForHealth #Workshops #HealthData PHRT - Personalized Health and Related Technologies

Info
The Swiss Personalized Health Network is an initiative of the Swiss Government which contributes to the development, implementation and validation of coordinated data infrastructures in order to make health-relevant data interoperable and shareable for research in Switzerland. SPHN is led by the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences (www.sams.ch) in collaboration with the SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (www.sib.swiss). The Management Office together with the SIB Personalized Health Informatics Group (PHI) coordinate the development of the SPHN initiative.

Cantonal hospitals are joining the Swiss Personalized Health Network! The Swiss Personalized Health Network (SPHN) has launched a new onboarding program to integrate cantonal hospitals into the SPHN and BioMedIT network. This initiative is a crucial step toward standardized data delivery across Swiss healthcare institutions, paving the way for multi-site personalized medicine research. The five cantonal hospitals joining this program include Luzerner Kantonsspital, Kantonsspital Aarau AG, Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale (EOC), Kantonsspital Baden AG and Kantonsspital St.Gallen KSSG. The non-profit organization SAKK Schweizerische Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Klinische Krebsforschung will also join the initiative. The institutions will map their data to international standards like #snomedct and #loinc, ensuring consistent and accurate data exchange. By implementing the SPHN Connector and the Secure Encryption and Transfer Tool (sett), these organizations are setting up the IT infrastructure needed for secure, interoperable data sharing. This collaboration marks a significant advancement in personalized medicine promoting better healthcare outcomes for all. #knowledgegraph #interoperabiliy #network #datasharing SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics

Genetic insights are crucial in deepening our understanding of conditions like obesity, cancer, and strokes. By uncovering the origins of these diseases, we can develop more effective prevention strategies, treatments, and potentially even cures. The project Genome of Switzerland makes this research possible: Its mission is to sequence the genomes of up to 20’000 people who have consented to have their data analyzed. The project is co-mandated and co-financed by PHRT - Personalized Health and Related Technologies and the Swiss Personalized Health Network (SPHN). On the 26th of August, the Swiss Personalized Health Network (SPHN) DCC FAIR data team had the pleasure of leading a half-day workshop at the Nexus Personalized Health Technologies 2024 at ETH Zürich. We showcased the full SPHN Semantic Interoperability Framework, including demos of the SPHN Schema Forge and SPHN Connector. Participants had a comprehensive overview of the researcher's journey, from encoding data into #Semantic #Web technologies to exploring with triplestores (i.e. #GraphDB) data delivered by data providers. They also had a peak into how the SPHN Connector helps the process for data providers to build valid Knowledge Graphs from data encoded at the source in various formats (RDMBS, CSV, Excel, JSON) A big thank you to the participants for their enthusiasm and to the organisers for this event! #HealthData #DataInteroperability #SPHN #RDF #FAIR

Standards like SNOMED CT are key to achieving interoperability for clinical data. However, keep in mind that there is a large community effort behind developing and maintaining such a standard. Standards continually evolve to meet our needs. Join the community to submit missing codes for your medical domain or contribute to language translations, enhancing the reach and effectiveness of SNOMED CT. Looking forward to meeting all the SNOMED CT enthusiasts in Seoul at the #SCTExpo24 and presenting our work around SNOMED CT in the Swiss Personalized Health Network (SPHN). #snomedct #standards #community #datainteroperability
