Info
Youth Talks is a groundbreaking initiative that marks the first-ever global consultation inviting individuals aged between 15 and 29 to share their opinions, concerns, and aspirations regarding the future of our societies by answering open-ended questions. By analyzing the responses using advanced AI tools such as semantic and lexical analysis, Youth Talks aims to collect valuable insights without imposing ideas or biases onto the young people. Youth Talks provides a platform for them to share their thoughts freely. This approach is unique and differs from traditional surveys that often miss out on such critical information such as weak signals and latent needs. Youth Talks is conducted on a global scale and is available in multiple languages, including French, English, Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese, and Chinese.

Executive Director at Higher Education for Good Foundation (Youth Talks) / Professor at SKEMA / CEO at Arbour Foundation
On Friday, I was honored to speak at an official side event of the United Nations Summit of the Future, co-hosted by Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) and the United Nations Global Compact. During the event, I shared key insights from our Youth Talks Edition 1 consultation: "What must we all learn at university to build our desired future?" 🔦 According to young people worldwide, their top priority is relearning how to live together through core human values such as empathy, solidarity, openness, and respect. This message does not mean we should abandon traditional disciplines. Hard sciences remain a necessity. However, there is an urgent need to restore humanity to the heart of our society and, thus, our education. My key messages: 1️⃣ We have a responsibility not to let technology overshadow our humanity. Social interactions, including those between students and professors, are vital for young people to learn about themselves and become whole individuals, ready to contribute meaningfully to society and the economy. The role of professors has evolved—they must no longer stand in front of the class to impart knowledge but rather co-create learning experiences in partnership with youth, discuss and refine knowledge through human interaction to determine its responsible use for the good of humanity and the planet. 💡 Learning Planet Institute 2️⃣ Understanding ourselves allows us to become balanced human beings, capable of developing crucial human skills (such as empathy, open-mindedness, solidarity, and ethics) in a world increasingly shaped by new technologies. The ability to maintain our humanity while navigating technological advancements is essential. 💡 Check Youth Talks on A.I. Manifesto here: https://lnkd.in/e77GBZUt 3️⃣ Data literacy is critical for future managers to grasp the complexities of the world around them and avoid falling prey to misinformation and manipulation. In a digital age where virtual experiences and social media amplify biases and false narratives, equipping young leaders with the tools to critically evaluate information is more important than ever. 4️⃣ This brings us to the concept of “Next Management,” which I’ve been exploring in my role on the Advisory Board of the Peter Drucker Society Europe. In a world where knowledge is more accessible, the ability to lead with empathy and systemic thinking is key. Incredible leaders joined me at the panel: Lily Bi, President and CEO of AACSB; Chairman Chavalit Frederick Tsao of TPC (Tsao Pao Chee); and youth representatives Farida Ally and Victor Y. Thank you to Sanda Ojiambo, CEO and Executive Director of the Global Compact, and Omid Aschari, Senior Advisor at PRME, for this opportunity. 🌍 Diverging Youth Concerns around the world: Institutions’ vs Individuals’ Responsabilities In most regions outside the West, youth are preoccupied with "poor human behaviors," encompassing corrupt actions, inhumanity, cruelty, individualism, lack of empathy, materialism, and greed. In stark contrast, young people in the West (North America, Europe, and Central Asia) focus on political issues such as extremism, lack of trust in decision-makers, corruption, oppression, and lack of freedom. This highlights two vastly different perspectives on the root causes of their problems and future anxieties: 👉The youth in the West question established systems and blame political institutions for the future's uncertainties. 👉Their peers in other regions emphasize individual responsibility and the potentially catastrophic consequences of poor human behavior. 🔍 This duality underscores the differing priorities and challenges faced by young people across the globe, shaping their visions for the future. 📊 Source: The results are from the Youth Talks 2022-2023 Consultation, which surveyed over 45,000 people about their vision of the world and the future. 🔗 Link to the report in the comments 📥 #YouthConcerns #GlobalPerspectives #InstitutionalResponsibility #IndividualBehavior #FutureAnxieties #YouthVoices
