#MFW4AKnowledgeShare According to Fitch Solutions, Ghana saw impressive digital bank account ownership growth, rising over 40% to just over 60% between 2011 and 2022. This placed Ghana 4th in Sub-Saharan Africa, behind Mauritius, South Africa, and Kenya, with Senegal, Tanzania, Ivory Coast, Ethiopia, and Nigeria close behind. While the growth is promising, it remains lower compared to global peers. Digital banking, driven by mobile phones, internet connectivity, and supportive regulation, is revolutionizing financial inclusion across the region.
