Morocco meets the PtX world! Just returning from the World Power-to-X Summit in Marrakesch full of impressions, great meetings and much confidence on the ramp up of the hydrogen economy in Morocco. 💡What are the main takeaways? 👉 Morocco can and - this is my firm belief- will become the Powerhouse for the region and for Europe 👉 PtX is also PtJobs and everybody has to understand this when doing business in the Kingdom 👉 no announcements on the Morocan Offer have been made. This is a pitty but I am sure that those will be done in the very near future 👉 Industry is ready to invest in Morocco and is waiting for the next steps. Industrial ecosystems have been build already now! We at HIF Global are ready to work with our local partners in Morocco to bring the PtX projects to a success. We are very much looking to build the first eMethanol plant and supply renewable fuel to our customers. Thanks our CEO and President Cesar Norton Sacre for joining us in Marrakesch. Thanks to our Chief Development Officer Ali Zerouali for the phenomenal work he is doing in the Kingdom of Morocco. Reflecting on an interesting week in Brazil participating in one of the largest clean energy events 🇧🇷🌱, which brought together the Clean Energy Ministerial and Mission Innovation communities with the G20 Energy Ministers. I had the chance to take part in several speaking engagements and connect with authorities, business leaders, academia, innovators and civil society institutions from around the world, to address the urgency of accelerating the global energy transition to low carbon fuels ⚡. I was heartened to see a consensus that we need practical action and not perfection to jump start this important industry. e-Fuels represent a concrete solution and a significant opportunity to reduce carbon emissions in the transport sector, and at HIF Global, we are committed to scaling up this technology worldwide. Particular thanks to Nelson Mojarro, Gerard Ostheimer and David Cox for facilitating these important dialogues and to Roeland Baan, Lauren Riley, Daria Nochevnik and Lei Chen for helping to send a consistent message from industry!

En un encuentro entre los líderes del sector del #hidrógenoverde en el país, H2 Chile celebró el Día Internacional del Hidrógeno, reforzando el compromiso de la industria por acelerar su desarrollo con los más altos estándares socioambientales y consolidarse como eje de un futuro sostenible. La actividad contó con el saludo inicial del Ministro de Economía, Fomento y Turismo, Nicolás Grau, quien valoró el rol del gremio en impulsar el sector e hizo un llamado a trabajar mancomunadamente “para consolidar el camino de Chile hacia un desarrollo productivo sostenible en beneficio de nuestra economía y de todos quienes habitan en nuestro país”. Por su parte, el Subsecretario de Energía, Luis Felipe Ramos, hizo hincapié en la importancia de que el hidrógeno verde cuente con el respaldo de una Política de Estado y que se está trabajando en coordinación con los distintos ministerios comprometidos en esta tarea a través del Plan de Acción H2V 2023-2030. El Vicepresidente Ejecutivo de Corfo, José Miguel Benavente, destacó el trabajo que Chile ha desplegado como pionero para impulsar el hidrógeno verde, siendo clave la coordinación público-privada e intersectorial entre las Carteras. De manera especial, sostuvo que ser pionero implica enfrentarse a escenarios de incertidumbre que hay que sortear con soluciones innovadoras, considerando el aprendizaje a partir de casos de éxito y de otras experiencias. En tanto, la Presidenta de H2 Chile, Rebeca Poleo, expresó la importancia de buscar medidas para enfrentar la triple crisis planetaria: "recordemos que el origen de nuestro gremio responde a la necesidad urgente de abordar la emergencia climática", señaló. A su vez, se refirió al contexto internacional de la industria y subrayó el crecimiento significativo en el desarrollo e implementación de tecnologías de hidrógeno verde, mencionando que, según IEA, la producción esperada de hidrógeno de bajas emisiones en 2023 aumentó más de un 30% respecto a 2022. El Director Ejecutivo de H2 Chile, Marcos Kulka, ahondó sobre los avances y prioridades del gremio, enfatizando la importancia de que la industria cuente con la licencia y legitimidad  social para desarrollarse. “Esta industria toma todo el aprendizaje y experiencias de múltiples industrias de nuestro país, de errores aprendidos y por supuesto de todo el conocimiento global”, destacó. Por otra parte, valoró la incorporación al gremio de HIF Global, compañía líder en e-Combustibles del mundo con presencia en Magallanes, y expresó que “la empresa trae la experiencia de un proyecto global, complementando mucho conocimiento sobre los combustibles sintéticos para múltiples usos. HIF ha sido un proyecto pionero en Chile y el mundo, una empresa líder que además ha contribuido en forma significativa al posicionamiento de Chile en el contexto global”.
