The walls of the well-established architecture of standardised education and its grading culture are gradually shredding, as we see a rise in public concerns about the relevance and quality of education today. Despite the ongoing debates (changing the education or not), we believe another way of #schooling or #education is possible where the learner is truly at the center of the process, especially as we continue to watch the rise and scale of graduate unemployment and widespread community poverty with educated individuals. With our current reality, we don't just see education as a mechanism for the development of #human #capital, but one that is central to how we make sense of and create #meaning for ourselves in our world. To this, we set on a new adventure to explore how to craft a Curiosity-driven interdisciplinary experiential learning to a problem and choice-based learning using  A. I, Data and Augmented Creativity. #COHERENCE loading...

Who did you #CONNECT with this summer? As #educators, we should often explore and exploit opportunities to network with other colleagues, and to share and build meaningful connections that enrich our professional and personal growth. In today's rapidly evolving educational landscape, #social #networks and #networking have become indispensable tools for teachers seeking to expand their professional knowledge, practice, and impact. During this year’s edition of the Rethinking Education Conference (#REC2024), we had the privilege of meeting and connecting with some of the amazing school leaders, researchers, and teachers from diverse backgrounds. Far beyond simple socializing, professional networking events offer educators a wealth of benefits that can significantly enhance their careers and, more importantly, their impact on students' lives.  For us, the exchange and experiences we had this year have been nothing short of enriching and transformational. To be precise, when teachers meet in a professional setting as we do with the WhatsApp EXCELLENT Teacher community they have the opportunity to; -Share best practices and savour some emotional support exchange of ideas can lead to improved teaching methods and ultimately benefit students- Teaching can be isolating and challenging and if unchecked, our practices could become monotonous and boring. -Broadening perspectives and growth in their professional consciousness of what is possible in their learning laboratory (classrooms) Because we know that effective networking opens doors to informal learning opportunities, with spontaneous conversations with peers, where new ideas flourish-such as new teaching technologies, classroom management techniques, deep learning strategies, or curriculum developments, we are happy to continue the Online #EXCELLENT #Teacher #Network #Community conversations on our LinkedIn/Facebook Platforms if that is something you would like to do. Let us know what you think and also tell us who you connected with at #REC2024! Thinking of joining the next #REC2025 edition? Read about it here https://lnkd.in/dQTDspFd ........... Do you know with some degree of certainty; 1: who you want your learners to be, or become? 2; what you want your learners to #know, and be capable of doing? Reflect on the current nature of the education services provided and determine what values you are promoting in your programmes and lessons. Also, reflect on, and identify the #skills and #competencies that are encouraged, nurtured, or developed through those programmes and lessons you offer. Now, project your thoughts five years ahead- would these children or learners have the requisite knowledge, skills, and competencies to navigate the world ahead of us? What are your thoughts? #Purpose-#Driven #Education

While #digital #technologies come with great excitement, with the potential to allow learners to shape their experiences, they also run the risk of falling flat if teachers do not have the required skills to select, create, operate, and integrate them effectively into their lessons. For example, 3 major sources of these unintended negative effects with digital artifacts are; 1. Poor #selection and failure to align digital resources with the learning objectives and outcomes. 2.  Little or no thought about the overall #learning #experience students will have interacting with the resource. 3. Failure to provide sufficient information and #instructions to guide the interaction with the digital artifact Though these are all useful points to remember, based on the assumption that these resources already exist, our session for tomorrow and Friday will focus on creating Digital Didactic materials exclusively. Join us to enjoy the learning together!

Of course, we would all agree that #learning activities need to align with the environment, and the assessment targets- especially with the learning outcomes for the lesson/subject/programme overall, -yet how often do we consider the alignment with the didactic materials we use for teaching? -Do we have these materials? -How do we use these materials? -How culturally and contextually appropriate are they for our learners? -How do we design and create these materials? In this learning series (2 days), we will delve into the world of hashtag #design and the diversity of #teaching #resources that are appropriate for #technology-enhanced learning and teaching. What if we could programme our exploratory #science projects using #virtual #reality, and then protect theses images in our classes to enhance the learning experiences of our students? We couldn't agree more with Mme Tabot Delphine views and her passion for VR enabled STEM pedagogies - we also believes this is the future of immerse learning. .... and for us, this marks the dawn of our #COHERENCE project starting October 2024 #digital #learning

I help individuals and organisations optimise their performance and innovative capacity through learning.

On the 19th of July, Teach Connect hosted the 5th edition of the #Rethinking #Education Conference #REC, and while I am still to digest everything that happened. during those two days and the events that followed, I can't hold my excitement, joy, and appreciation for the two individuals who made it possible. I am extremely proud of these two individuals Bechem Ayuk (Digital Instructional Officer) and Tracy Abit (acting Deputy National Coordinator) who did the unimaginable to pull off the organisation, and coordination of all the conference activities with its recorded success- from the conference dinner to the conference itself and workshop. As the Head of Operations of TC, and on behalf of the Director of the National Centre for Education, -Prof Mforteh Stephen I would like to send a special Thank You for being the engine behind the conference's success. Your collaborative spirit and professionalism have set a new standard for what we can achieve together. The positive feedback from delegates is a testament to your hard work and I feel extremely privileged to work alongside such a talented and passionate team. Here's to many more successful events in our future!
