LoRaWAN Gateways to be deployed remotely needs power and network backhaul connections. If you are in UK, you'll probably see some installation of RAKwireless outdoor LoRaWAN Gateway integrated RAK's Battery Plus! These deployments uses sim cards to provide network connection (thanks to Cellular IoT) and remotely powered by the sun using a solar panel charging the very robust Battery plus. It is almost a decade ago when Nordic Semiconductor launched the nRF52 series. And this chip is one of the best choice in the BLE market and that's why RAKwireless RAK4630 (very known to Meshtastic community) is based on #nRF52840 and Semtech #SX1262. This module combines both LoRa/LoRaWAN and BLE functionality making it very versatile in many applications. If you plan to work on some BLE Gateway with LoRa backhaul, then this is a good choice 👍 It also allows various ways of developing the firmware.
