【Chamber news】Welcome our new SwedCham Member Success Lead – Lucy Lu The Swedish Chamber of Commerce in China is pleased to announce that Lucy Lu who was an intern at SwedCham in 2022 - 2023 will be joining the Shanghai Office as our new Member Success Lead. We are excited to have her back in our team! Lucy will be the first touch point of contact with companies and bring experience to supporting event organization from her time as a Senior Event Associate at the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai. Are you interested in SwedCham? For more information about future career and internship opportunities at the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in China, please visit our website at www.swedcham.cn    About Lucy: Hi, my name is Lucy. I am very happy to be back in SwedCham as a Membership Success Lead. I was a teacher for seven years, but later I discovered my curiosity about international trade, so I interned at SwedCham in 2022 to 2023. After the internship, I worked at the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai for a year as a senior event associate. The internship experience at SwedCham was wonderful because it was a place full of sincerity, vitality, and integrity. I witnessed how these characters deeply attracted and helped members and others. To be honest, I felt like I won the lottery in the workplace that year. I am still lucky now because I am back and particularly looking forward to helping member companies develop their businesses. I lived in Sweden for three years and received free higher education and high-quality medical services and many people who helped me. I have always hoped to do something to promote China-Sweden relations. I am particularly grateful for this chance. I believe that there are beautiful things ahead.

  • 【Event Recap】 SWEDCHAM APAC CEO Talk: Magnus Ahlqvist, President & CEO of Securitas Group Today, we had the privilege of co-hosting the SwedCham APAC CEO Talk featuring Magnus Ahlqvist, President & CEO of Securitas Group. This initiative, started by SwedChams across APAC during the COVID period, has continued thanks to its popularity and previously hosted dozens of prominent CEOs. In an enlightening session, Magnus shared his vision on the fundamental transformation of the security industry. He emphasized how technological innovation is reshaping security from reactive measures to proactive strategies, especially in a world facing increased uncertainties like geopolitical risks. Magnus highlighted how "safeguarding" now encompasses a broader scope than ever before, evolving from a niche market to a global force influencing technological innovation and business strategy. This is driving Securitas' commitment to leveraging technology to help clients proactively identify risks and vulnerabilities, setting a new standard for security solutions globally. He also shed light on the immense opportunities in Asia, a key growth region for Securitas. His insights into how this region differs from others worldwide and the essential factors for growth in Asia were truly inspiring 🌏. It was particularly inspiring to hear how Swedish and corporate values have been so important for Securitas when expanding in the APAC market. Magnus mentioned that they don't aim to be the largest operator but the best operator in the world, a philosophy that resonates deeply with the Swedish business community abroad. Thank you, Magnus Ahlqvist and Securitas Group, for sharing your expertise and for being a valued member of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce, contributing greatly to the Swedish business community here. • 【Event Recap】Win-Win Negotiation Skills in Beijing On October 9th and 10th, the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in China hosted a two-day training workshop on Win-Win Negotiation Skills in Beijing, led by @Jason Wang from Linke Consulting Co.,Ltd. During the workshop, Jason provided participants with a comprehensive blend of both theoretical insights and practical experience. This method enabled participants to identify areas of weakness and focus on honing skills that required further development. Participants expressed a high level of satisfaction with the workshop, describing it as both practical and insightful. Many highlighted how the training made them more aware of key scenarios in their daily work that are often overlooked, equipping them with the tools to approach future negotiations with greater confidence and awareness. SwedCham will have more upcoming workshops taught by experienced individuals, keep an eye out on our event page www.swedcham.cn/events Our question to you is: What do you think is the key factor for a successful negotiator?
