Recently, the Marco Polo Jinjiang team visited the Children’s Rehabilitation Center in Quanzhou, China (泉州愛星兒童啟能復健中心) to support students and honor their teachers. General Manager Mr. Zhang Xin emphasized, “Education is the foundation of community development, and teachers play a vital role in guiding children’s growth.”   In celebration of educators, the team organized a special event for September birthdays, featuring cake, afternoon tea, and engaging activities. We are pleased to introduce Candis Hui, our enthusiastic HR summer intern who has brought fresh energy to our team. Her swift adaptation to our work culture highlights the dynamic environment we cultivate. By participating in key projects, including our town hall meeting, she demonstrates a positive attitude toward gaining experience and developing her skills.   When we asked Candis what role she would choose if she could shift positions within our hotel, she shared, “I would try the front desk role, as I enjoy greeting guests. I recognize the strong connection between this role and HR, as both focus on making impactful first impressions.”   Her internship has deepened her passion for HR within the hospitality industry, illustrating how we nurture future talent. We believe hospitality can be a force for good and leave a positive impact on our communities. Last week, a team of staff members from Marco Polo Ortigas Manila visited Tahanan ng Pagmamahal (House of Love), an orphanage in Pasig City, bringing 40 boxes of essential items such as notebooks, socks, pencils, body wash, milk formula, diapers, medicine, toys, and shirts collected from colleagues and JS Unitrade. More than just a day to give back, we loved that the visit delighted the children and, it was an opportunity to witness the incredible work the orphanage does to guide, support and nurture underprivileged children.
