The Next Phase of the New Optical Polishing Techniques For Aspherical And Free Form Lenses Project Has Begun! We are excited to announce that the project is entering a new stage with the integration of laser-assisted material removal techniques, a groundbreaking development that will enable the machining of advanced materials. This innovation represents a unique opportunity for significant progress in precision optics. With laser-assisted SPDT process freeform surface generation and further post-polishing processes, we can push the production time and precision boundaries of aspherical and freeform lens production. This advancement is made possible through our close collaboration with #asphericon CZ, and we look forward to the upcoming breakthroughs this partnership will bring. The scope has been financed within the ESA programme TDE (Ref. T716-603MM). #Innovation #OpticalPolishing #AsphericalLenses #FreeformLenses #LaserAssistance #PrecisionOptics #asphericonCZ #TOPTEC #ESA

💡🔬 𝐋𝐚𝐬𝐀𝐩𝐩 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 | 🤖🛠️ 𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐋𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 🚀🔭 𝐋𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 As part of the LasApp project, HiLASE Centre is at the forefront of cutting-edge research in Smart Laser Manufacturing and Space-borne Laser Technologies. 💬 “The important thing is to set the correct process parameters and subsequently verify them with appropriate methods; only then can we assess whether the process is functioning according to our requirements. Furthermore, we implement smart decision-making techniques that can automatically verify whether the laser is processing the surface correctly. It is precisely this combination of advanced diagnostics with smart decision-making methods that is the focus of the Smart Laser Manufacturing project," explains Jan Brajer. 📹 (in CZ with EN subtitles) ➡️ https://lnkd.in/djsGx2Gi Martin Smrz, responsible for Laser Applications in Space within the LasApp project, also outlines HiLASE's focus on Space-borne Laser Technologies. 💬 "The strategic area is not just about lasers; it connects to topics such as laser micromachining, communications technologies, and all other areas that use a laser beam as a light source. We have a very good basis for the construction of high-energy laser systems. Many of our lasers have broken world records in the area of high-energy, diode-pumped lasers. Our lasers are among the very best ones in laser technology development as a whole. If we keep going in this direction, I think we have a very good chance of actually sending a laser to space in the not-so-far future," says Martin Smrz. 🔹 Project LasApp: Breakthrough Laser Technologies for Smart Manufacturing, Space, and Biotechnology Applications 🔹 This project links the top laser research centers of the Akademie věd České republiky with other leading institutions, focusing on advanced fiber and thin-disk lasers and their applications. The project, co-funded by the European Union, has received support from the Ministry of Education, Prague, Czech Republic, Operational Programme Jan Amos Komenský (OP JAK) in the call for Top Research. 🛰 💃 🛰 #Proba3, or how to make two satellites waltz in space Set to be launched in 2024, the Proba-3 mission, composed of two spacecrafts, will demonstrate new technologies for satellite formation-flying. At only a few hundred meters, the two satellites will perform complex manoeuvres to cast a precisely held shadow from one spacecraft to the other to block out the Sun. This formation will allow scientists to observe the Sun’s corona for a prolonged period. The satellite, and the series of Proba satellites, also act as demonstrator for autonomous navigation. #GNSS positioning, onboard orbit propagation and the automation of the ground segment allow the satellites to navigate, receive telemetry and even handle certain anomalies without a human intervention. The operations are performed under the watchful eye of the small operations team located at the #ESEC SmallSat Operations Centre in Redu, Belgium. The interface between the operations centre and the ground stations is provided by #ESOC. Learn more about this exceptional mission 👉 https://lnkd.in/g494n6Y5
