🎀 It is #PinkOctober and October 25 is Pink@Work Day! 🎗️ At MSD Czech Republic we stand in solidarity with those affected by breast cancer, both women and men. That is why our teams came together in pink to join the #PinkAtWork initiative to raise awareness and show support for this important cause. 💖 We took the opportunity to educate our employees about the disease and its effective prevention via various engaging activities and during our HH Town Hall where our WomenCancers cross-functional team shared their insights about the disease and how we can make a difference. 🌸 With such employee engagement, we are also proudly joining the #Women4Health initiative introduced recently by the Czech Chamber of Commerce Hospodářská komora České republiky. Diversity in our teams is a top priority for us. Long-term, we’re always looking for ways to support different communities and bring diversity to the forefront. Czechitas launched some meaningful courses that really resonated with us, like their Cyber Security course, Data Science Foundation, and The Manager of AI Transformation course—and we were happy to support them! We’re already committed to a sequel, and we’re excited to continue working together to help build diversity across our community.

On September 21st, we took part in 'Zažít město jinak' (Take Back Your Street) for the first time, embracing the theme of 'Slow down. “It was all about health, taking time to enjoy the day, and spending quality moments with family. Kids had a blast in the bounce house, and everyone loved the face painting and cotton candy. We all feel committed to giving back to our community, and I’m already looking forward to future events like this.” says Nadezda Puskarova, Clinical Research Director at MSD Czech Republic. Thanks to our partner NGOs and patient organizations, we created a day that celebrated our community and our commitment to well-being. These moments remind us of the importance of slowing down and taking care of ourselves and our loved ones.

As part of the Cyber Threat Intelligence team, our job is to track the cyber threats our company faces, and help the security teams and the leaders understand what we need to protect ourselves against. 🎗️ October 13th is #MetastaticBreastCancerDay! 🔍 Metastatic breast cancer, also known as stage IV breast cancer, occurs when cancer cells from the breast spread to other parts of the body, such as the bones, lungs, liver, or brain. It is the most severe stage of the disease. In the Czech Republic, it is estimated that over 3,000 women are currently living with metastatic breast cancer. ❗ Let's remember the critical role of prevention. Regular screenings such as mammograms and self-examinations can make a significant difference in early breast cancer detection. 💕 We stand in solidarity with the thousands of women in the Czech Republic and around the world who are living with metastatic breast cancer and admire the strength and resilience of all those dealing with the unique challenges of this diagnosis.
