🌐 Meet Andreas Kühl – Aditerna's New System Administrator! 🌐 Andreas joined us just a few weeks ago, but he's already making an impact! As our System Administrator, Andreas ensures the seamless setup and smooth operation of our servers, which is vital for our day-to-day operations. With a career spanning back to 1999, Andreas brings a wealth of experience from both industry and research facilities. He’s worked extensively with UNIX systems and managed data centers in 24/7 operations, a testament to his deep expertise and commitment. Alongside his practical experience, Andreas holds several system administration certifications and is an enthusiastic LINUX fan. When he’s not keeping our systems in top shape, Andreas loves to sail and has a keen interest in underwater archaeology of the late Roman Empire. We’re thrilled to have him onboard, and he’s currently hard at work setting up the test environment for one of our key projects. Welcome to the team, Andreas! 🌊⚓️

Distributed Synthetic Training (#DST) continues to strengthen NATO's defense capabilities. Last week, Robert discussed the DST approach with the team of the IAMD COE in Chania, Greece. Are open standards really relevant? If we had to pick a common theme across the many brilliant briefings at the NATO CA²X² Forum, "open standards" would definitely be in the Top-3. In our connected world of Allies and Partners, interoperability is key! And open standards are one of the most critical elements towards achieving this goal. So, it was absolutely fantastic to see that this view was shared by so many briefers and attendees. Juergen Berentz has been instrumental in shaping our most cutting-edge projects since he joined Aditerna in 2022. As Lead Architect, he played a pivotal role in coordinating the architectural interfaces and analytics module of our RAPTOR based Training Information Management System (TIMS) for the EDF project “VireTS” —a Virtual Reality (VR) Trauma Simulator, designed to train military personnel in handling battlefield injuries and trauma situations. His expertise ensured seamless integration between advanced data analytics systems and the web application that received simulation data from the VR platform.  Jürgen also spearheads the Validation and Verification (V&V) process for our simulation studies, ensuring that our systems meet the highest standards of accuracy and reliability. Beyond VireTS, Jürgen is involved in an international project focused on Modeling & Simulation as a Service, leveraging cloud-based environments to drive innovation. He is also planning a large-scale Test & Evaluation environment that will establish a robust framework to assess and validate complex systems in realistic scenarios. Jürgen, born and raised in Franconia, is an internationally experienced team player. He brings a strong character and dedication to our team. He is always pushing for high-quality features and thoroughly tests our newly developed products to ensure they meet Aditerna’s high standards.
