The Polling Booth of the Future is here …and it came with wheels! 🚲🗳️ In collaboration with former Allianz Foundation Fellow Love Ssega and artist Thor McIntyre-Burnie, we’ve launched the Polling Booth of the Future. The interactive installation invites community members to anonymously #vote on important questions regarding the future of #democracy. Drawing inspiration from Ssega’s activism, including his initiatives with Hard Art and LIVE+ BREATHE, the booth aims to capture the hopes, ideas and aspirations of communities across Europe. ➡️ After its launch in Stratford-Upon-Avon, the Polling Booth is now on tour, beginning in London and traveling throughout the UK and Europe. ➡️ The installation also features key findings from our Next Generations Study, "The Movers of Tomorrow?," offering deeper insights into how young adults in Europe imagine and shape the future of democracy. Exciting news from our Community Fellows! 🎉 For the first time, the Allianz Foundation is supporting an entire team through our Community Fellowship. Douglas and Sonia Herman, our longstanding partners from ReFOCUS Media Labs, have joined forces with Dawoud Nouri, Eli Fazlollah, Rasheed Galli, and Sude Fazlollah to launch the podcast ‘Fractured’ - a series that sheds light on critical issues around migration and refugee experiences. The podcast tackles topics such as human rights violations in Greek refugee camps, anonymous deaths along the Balkan route, and the UK’s deportation agreement with Rwanda. Jetzt erst recht: Start der zweiten Förderrunde des Vereint für Demokratie Fonds Am Mittwoch hat die 2. Jury-Sitzung des Vereint für Demokratie Fonds stattgefunden! In dieser Förderrunde hat die Jury die Förderung von weiteren 36 zivilgesellschaftliche Organisationen mit insgesamt 1 Million Euro beschlossen. Mit den bereitgestellten Mitteln können Organisationen ihre regionalen und bundesweiten Aktivitäten zum Schutz und zur Weiterentwicklung der Demokratie im Vorfeld der Bundestagswahl 2025 ausweiten. Wir haben den Fonds gemeinsam mit unsererem Partner ProjectTogether im Mai ins Leben gerufen. Esra Küçük Vorständin der Allianz Foundation und Mit-Initiatorin des Fonds, erklärte: „Die einzige mögliche Antwort auf die Entwicklungen der letzten Zeit lautet: Handeln. Wir müssen diejenigen unterstützen, die sich täglich für den Schutz der Demokratie, die Zwischenmenschlichkeit und gegen Hass und Hetze einsetzen. Die Verstetigung unseres unabhängigen Fonds ist dafür ein wichtiger Grundstein. Wir danken allen Förderpartner*nnen, die das ermöglichen. Der Fonds zeigt, wie wirksam das Bündnis aus Wirtschaft und Zivilgesellschaft ist. Es ist diese breite gesellschaftliche Zusammenarbeit, die langfristig den Unterschied macht.“    Ein besonderer Dank geht an die Deutsche Postcode Lotterie, die das Fördervolumen des Fonds auf über zwei Millionen Euro verdoppelt hat und damit ein wichtiges Zeichen für Demokratie und zivilgesellschaftliches Engagement setzt. Nalan Sipar is on a mission to #diversify the German #media landscape. With her motto „Journalism on behalf of the community, for the benefit of society as a whole.," she is focused on creating content that represents all voices. ➡️ Since May 2024, she has been part of the Allianz Foundation Civic Journalism Fellowship in collaboration with Publix Berlin, where she is developing new formats to enhance media representation. Nalan moved to Germany at age 15 and has worked with organizations like WDR and SPIEGEL. She created Germany’s first German-Turkish children’s show, “Kelebek,” and founded the digital publisher #MedyaN, which focuses on community-centered German-Turkish journalism.
