F e a t u r e d The Claudine Hermann School Complex has recently been completed and is now featured on Divisare. Located in the #Greater #Paris region, the new complex consists of three single-story buildings seamlessly blending into the surrounding landscape, forming a gradual and porous urban boundary. The program is distributed across three volumes: the reception areas and after-school activity centre occupy the northern part of the site, the school restaurant is positioned to the west, and the kindergarten and elementary school are situated to the south. Shared spaces—including the recreation centre, restaurant, courtyard, and main lobby—are unified under expansive zinc-coated glued-laminated #timber roofing. The façades are constructed from tinted concrete and sandblasted after casting, while the interior walls feature concrete blocks. We were responsible for #structural #engineering, supporting the teams at SAM Architecture.

E x h i b i t i o n  From 29 January to 25 May 2025, Louvre Abu Dhabi will host the temporary exhibition “Kings and Queens of Africa: Forms and Figures of Power”, co-organised with the musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac, Louvre Abu Dhabi and France Muséums. This exhibition, which showcases over 350 works across 1,400 m², marks the first presentation of its kind at such a scale in the United Arab Emirates. We were glad to support the teams by bringing our expertise in structural engineering. Beyond technical challenges, we are always keen to engage with #scenographic projects, even from an engineering perspective, and are delighted to contribute to Art through our work. #Engineering #Structure #Art #UAE

C o n s t r u c t i o n P r o g r e s s Designed across three levels, the future Saint-Sauveur sports hall plays a key role in shaping the district’s identity with its concave curved roofs and luminous, corrugated metal envelope. Expansive windows establish visual connections, framing views of the city from within while revealing the stacked sports spaces from the outside. The structure combines prefabricated concrete for the lower levels with a timber roof, integrating vegetation and skylights to maximise natural light. The recent lifting of the framework marks a major milestone in construction. This strikingly curved timber-and-metal assembly comprises 45 tonnes of steel profiles and fittings, along with 134 m³ of spruce glulam. The exterior glulam columns stand 13 meters tall, supporting three 22.5-meter lattice girders that ensure structural stability. Established in 1908, this prestigious award is presented biennially by the Oslo Association of Architects to recognise buildings that exemplify architectural excellence and positively impact the city. C o m p l e t e d The High-Garden project, situated in the western Greater Paris area, has been completed. This multi-level building accommodates technical spaces, a restaurant, and an accessible rooftop terrace. Wrapped in a distinctive ‘cloud’ of 3,240 stainless steel tubes, the façade establishes a unique visual identity, enhanced by dynamic lighting effects (Ambiance Lumière France) and a fog system that we have developed in close collaboration with the architects of Harmonic + Masson & Associés. The structural design relies on a steel frame supported by four HEA-section pillars, with continuous beams and cantilevered floors optimising load distribution. Integrating the stainless steel cloud required meticulous coordination between the #façade and #structural systems. P r o j e c t The Beijing Library, designed by Snøhetta, has been recently completed and is now accessible to the public. This modern and timeless space celebrates learning, knowledge-sharing, and the rich cultural heritage of Beijing. Its striking roof design, inspired by Ginkgo tree leaves, combines structural elegance with sustainability. The forest-like tree structure integrates climate control, lighting, acoustic comfort, and rainwater management while setting new standards for sustainable library design. We are proud to have contributed our expertise in structural engineering during the competition and concept design phases. C o n s t r u c t i o n We’re excited to announce the start of construction for the Naschmarkt Project in Vienna, designed by Mostlikely Architecture! We are responsible for the structural engineering of this ambitious project, which combines innovative design with historical preservation. The first phase focuses on creating a bright, open market space featuring a timber roof with spans of up to 9.5m, supported by steel columns, along with a small concrete basement and the addition of a vibrant new park area, the "Naschpark". The rooftop will offer a publicly accessible terrace complete with pergolas and vegetation, creating a welcoming urban oasis. A key challenge of this phase was preserving the historic "Wienflussgewölbe" - a 19m-wide unreinforced concrete arch that lies beneath the entire project site. Our team carefully managed additional loads and ensured stability during construction to protect this century-old structure. We also recalculated and reinforced the nearby Metro Line U4, which features a roof structure over 100 years old. The first phase is set for completion in September 2025, with three more phases to follow: upgrading the flea market, the Kettenbrückengasse, and the farmers’ market area. D i s c o v e r From January 23 to January 27, 2025, the municipal authorities are hosting an information market about the new Casino-Kursaal Knokke-Heist at the seaside in Belgium. The event will be held in the Kursaal's Magritte Hall, providing residents and visitors with a unique opportunity to explore the plans and vision for the future of this iconic building. B+G is part of the team responsible for the redevelopment of the Grand Casino Knokke. Our experienced structural design team is working alongside TAB Architects, Barozzi Veiga and Mosbach Paysagistes, to design and build a new casino that respects the footprint and volume of the existing auditorium.
