CEEZER's Magnus Drewelies, Kathy Kearns, and Lisa Gran got a break from colder weather this week at #Verge24 in sunny San Jose ☀️ Magnus co-hosted a tutorial on the ‘State of Supply Chain Engagement: Supplier Collaboration for Scope 3 Targets' alongside Dolby Laboratories's Natasha Tuck, Capgemini’s Sol Salinas, Workiva's Mitchell Voss, and Science Based Targets initiative's Diana Farmer. Key takeaways from the presentation: 🎯 Scope 3 is a key challenge to solve 🎯 Technology plays a huge role in unlocking power from suppliers as it enables coordination and collaboration 🎯 To move from questionnaires to action requires offering easy solutions for suppliers, enabling them to take quick action together 🎯 It's not necessary to reinvent the wheel to make this happen - setting the right incentives for suppliers can happen within RfPs and contracts Great meeting so many engaging professionals tackling serious challenges facing the carbon market today, including Scope 3. If you have any questions or would like to chat about how carbon removal factors into engaging supply chain and addressing Scope 3, let us know! #CarbonRemoval #CarbonMarkets #Scope3 #CDR #SupplyChain Trellis Group

Scope 3 often makes up 80%+ of a company's emissions, but one third are falling behind their Scope 3 reduction targets. Tomorrow, our CEO Magnus Drewelies tackles how carbon removal can help engage supply chains to tackle Scope 3 at #Verge24. Magnus is co-hosting a tutorial alongside Dolby Laboratories's Natasha Tuck, Capgemini’s Sol Salinas, Workiva's Mitchell Voss, and Science Based Targets initiative's Diana Farmer on the ‘State of Supply Chain Engagement: Supplier Collaboration for Scope 3 Targets.’ They’ll be covering: 🎯 The recent #SBTi Scope 3 discussion paper, exploring challenges and opportunities around #Scope3 target setting 🎯 How organizations can identify, account for and eventually eliminate emissions related to products that happen outside of the bounds of internal business operations 🎯 What role insetting plays in the path to #netzero Mark your calendar! Highlights from this week’s World Sustainability Congress in Amsterdam 🌱 CEEZER’s Max Schumann had a great time meeting everyone and checking out the thoughtful presentations. 💡 Henkel’s Ulrike Sapiro presented on ‘The Need for a CPO/CSO Partnership,’ and how setting up a strong governance structure is key to scaling sustainability internally. She advised, “Your organization is not an island, don't estimate the power of an ecosystem. Procurement is your access to that ecosystem.” 💡 Damen Shipyards' Jacob Biemond discussed tackling #Scope3 and supply chain emissions: “Encouraging suppliers to #decarbonize isn't easy, especially if there's a disconnect in size and purchasing power between buyer and supplier. There's only so much you can influence you are the smaller party.” 💡 A discussion between The HEINEKEN Company’s Arnaud Thoni and HH Global’s Kevin Dunckley (He/Him) touched on ‘Creating Positive Impact across Marketing Activations.’ They stressed the importance of product design: “The impact of product design(ers) on the footprint of a company and its emissions cannot be overstated. Small adjustments early in the design process can make a huge difference.” An amazing event, and a great time meeting everyone in Amsterdam - we can’t wait to continue these conversations. If you're developing your #netzero transition plan, we'd love to discuss your specific case in more detail. #WorldSustainabilityCongress #CDR #VCM #RacetoNetZero #CarbonMarket

🌿 Navigating Carbon Credit Risks In a recent Trellis Group webinar moderated by Margaret Morales, JPMorganChase's Taylor Wright, Berkeley Lab’s Jennifer Holm and CEEZER's Dr. Carla Woydt shared valuable insights on building effective #carboncredit portfolios. Key takeaways: 1️⃣ Define your values first: Before stepping into procurement, clearly outline your purpose for engaging in voluntary carbon markets. 2️⃣ No one-size-fits-all defines a "high-quality" carbon credit: Companies must assess risks across factors like additionality, permanence, delivery and geopolitical considerations. 3️⃣ Portfolios are for everyone: Diversification isn't just for big buyers. Even smaller companies can build robust portfolios to mitigate project-specific risks. 4️⃣ Quality ≠ Price: Don't assume higher prices always mean better quality. Due diligence at the project level is crucial. The bottom line: Define your strategy, understand your risk appetite, diversify your portfolio, and of course, be transparent about your approach. 🎥 Missed the webinar?
