It is a major (!) problem for justice and safety in our society. Tech education on all levels is necessary, but tech teachers are missing. What to do? We see the rise of investments in MOOCs (massive open online classes), but my 9 years of experience with self-paced learning and scientific evidence show that less than 10% (most 3-5%) actually make it to graduation of these online courses. Having an AI teach you tech is not a solution for most people. Especially not for already marginalised groups in our society! The survey, which included around 1,000 companies across various sectors, found that 90% expect a rise in cyberattacks over the next 12 months. Organized #crime was identified as the source of 70% of these attacks, with data theft, including sensitive customer information and intellectual property, being a common target. Notably, 45% of companies attributed at least one attack to #China, while 39% pointed to #Russia. In response to the growing threat, companies have increased their IT budgets for digital security from 14% to 17%, though only 37% have an emergency plan for supply chain security incidents. Bitkom President Ralf Wintergerst emphasized the need for enhanced protective measures.
