Exciting news: A new innovation center, called KabiLab, is taking shape at our corporate headquarters in Bad Homburg. This state-of-the-art facility will feature: 🔹 Laboratories 🔹 90 desk-sharing workstations 🔹 Meeting rooms all spread across 5,000 square meters. Starting from mid-2026, colleagues from our Business Unit Nutrition will research and work here on pioneering projects. With the global demand for clinical nutrition on the rise, we are committed to leading the way in providing cutting-edge solutions for patients worldwide. Sustainability is at the heart of KabiLab. By utilizing parts of the existing building and technical infrastructure, we are saving a significant amount of CO2 emissions. 🌱 🌍 In the future, photovoltaic systems will supply green electricity, an efficient heat pump will be used to heat the rooms, and rainwater will be stored to water the new green spaces. 🌿💧 We are very much looking forward to the opening next year! #FutureFresenius #CommittedToLife

We at Fresenius Kabi conduct significant work to treat water used at our manufacturing sites. We fully support the goals of the Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive (UWWTD) to protect the environment and human health. However, we see certain provisions in the revised UWWTD as a serious threat to accessibility, availability, and affordability of off-patent medicines. According to the UWWTD, micropollutants must be filtered out by means of so-called quaternary wastewater treatment, the costs of which are mainly borne by the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries. We reject the EU's assessment that pharmaceuticals and cosmetics are the main source of micropollutants in urban wastewater and criticize that the EU does not take into consideration other industries and products, but solely imposes the costs on the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries. That is why, we – as one of 14 pharmaceutical companies – are taking legal action against provisions in the UWWTD, in front of the General Court of the European Union. We call for a more proportionate, evidenced approach. Generic medicines are the backbone of the European healthcare system.
