"Net Zero via Jet Zero - is not just possible, it is necessary." Our CEO, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Josef Kallo, recently attending Farnborough Airshow and shared his thoughts on the importance of working together to find a solution to Net Zero. "But it needs collaboration, take our recent partnership with Joby Aviation. Recently, we integrated our H2F-175’ fuel cell system into Joby's hydrogen-electric technology demonstrator aircraft showed that it is possible, not only to have high continuous power, but have fuel stored for a few hours. Our achievement demonstrates that the technology is out there, and I hope more companies take the risks and collaborate to make this possible."

It has been over a year since, in June 2023 we proudly unveiled the H2F-175 fuel cell system program designed to provide fuel cell systems for a variety of aircraft applications. Since then, the team has made remarkable headway in realising our vision for a sustainable aviation future. With the recent successful flight test of our fuel cell system in Joby's hydrogen-electric demonstrator we have once again proven the viability of this technology to realize emission-free flight. We're thrilled to continue our work on the next generation of aircraft fuel cell systems. Stay tuned for more! #sustainableaviation #H2F175

✨On this week's Employee Spotlight we want to celebrate Jasper Jonitz, our talented Development Engineer who specialises in liquid hydrogen (LH2) here at H2FLY. ✨ How did you get into aviation and end up at H2FLY? I have always been passionate about anything that flies 🛫, that’s why I did my bachelor’s and master’s degree in aerospace engineering, with an opportunity to start as one of the first working students in H2FLY’s testing team in 2021 and then transitioned to Development Engineer in 2023 🛠️ What does your role entail, and how does this help H2FLY's mission? I do system design, component selection and operational procedures for anything related to liquid hydrogen and provide solutions to make LH2 a viable fuel for aircraft. What about H2FLY excites you? 🎉 The opportunity to explore new propulsion technologies for aircraft and test new ideas in the workshop. The passionate, motivated and hungry team are also a pleasure to work with! What has been the most exciting moment for you at H2FLY so far? One of my favourite moments was seeing the advantages of liquid hydrogen fuel translated into the world's first crewed LH2 flight with the HY4. This milestone really highlighted the immense potential of this technology for a greener future of aviation. ✈️ 🌟 #TeamCulture #HR #Aviation

It was a pleasure to sit down with Aerospace Global News to talk about the recent advancements in hydrogen aviation with our CEO & Founder Prof. Dr.-Ing. Josef Kallo. "The achievement together with Joby Aviation, flying with our fuel cell system and liquid hydrogen demonstrates that from a functional point of view it is possible to have high continuous power installed in an aircraft and also have usable fuel for couple of hours. This is a great achievement which shows the technology is there." To listen to our talk, please follow the link to the video here: https://lnkd.in/e9M6TbZq #HydrogenAviation

The future of air travel is here ✈️🌱 Last week, Joby Aviation shared the news that the first-of-its-kind hydrogen-electric air taxi successfully flew 523 miles, a project part collaborated on by H2FLY. A small team at Joby and H2FLY has worked closely for several years, achieving this remarkable feat. The demonstrator featured a liquid hydrogen fuel tank, designed and built by Joby and fuel cell system, designed and built by H2FLY powering the aircraft emission-free. ✈️🌱 Learn more about the technology in Charles Alcock article in AIN. https://lnkd.in/gezGrVje

We’re excited to be part of another major milestone: Joby Aviation has successfully flown a hydrogen-electric, vertical take-off and landing aircraft 523 miles, demonstrating the potential of hydrogen to enable emission-free, regional travel. The landmark test flight is believed to be the first forward flight of a vertical take-off and landing aircraft powered by liquid hydrogen. The fuel cell system, designed and built for Joby's demonstrator as part of H2FLY’s ongoing “H2F-175” development program, is the first to be integrated into an aircraft and tested in flight. The electricity produced by the hydrogen fuel cell system powers the six electric motors on the Joby aircraft. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Josef Kallo, co-founder and CEO of H2FLY, said: "H2FLY is proud to deliver a highly efficient fuel cell system that underlines our expertise in designing and building fuel cell systems for different aircraft applications and supports Joby in demonstrating the potential for emission-free regional flights."
