Discover the #research of Prof. Natalia S. Pellegata, Head of Division Neuroendocrinology at #HelmholtzMunich 🔬 👉 More about Prof. Natalia S. Pellegata: https://lnkd.in/dqVqXRF8
Lab Showcase Series, Episode 9: Pellegata Lab 🌟 In this edition of our Lab Showcase Series, we turn the spotlight on the groundbreaking work of the Pellegata Lab at Helmholtz Munich, Germany! ✨ Led by Prof. Dr. Natalia S. Pellegata, the lab delves into the complex interplay between neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) and metabolism, shedding light on how these tumors impact both local and systemic metabolic processes. 🧬 🔍 Key Research Highlights: 💥 Tumor-Metabolism Interplay: The lab investigates the dual influence of NETs on both local and systemic metabolism, providing critical insights into the metabolic dynamics associated with these tumors. 🧠 🔬 Mechanisms Studied: By analyzing the effects of hormones and metabolites on organs, vascular cells, and adipocytes within the context of NETs, the Pellegata Lab is uncovering vital cellular processes. 🧫 🤝 Clinical Collaboration: Through partnerships with SFB824 and TR/CRC205, the lab is translating their research findings into clinical practice, bridging the gap between bench and bedside. 🏥 🔑 Key Focuses: The team is exploring the role of Tribbles pseudokinases—key players in the cross-talk between adipocytes and tumor cells in various cancer models. This research could open new pathways in cancer treatment. 🧪 For more insights into their pioneering research, visit: 🔗 Lab website: https://lnkd.in/g3WWA4KB ✍🏻Credits: Poster: Smrutimayee Prusty Content: Shruti Gajbhiye #LabShowcaseSeries #NGSF #PellegataLab #germany #HelmholtzMunich #Neuroendocrinology #TumorResearch #CancerResearch
