🌟 Exciting news: Our portfolio company CorTec has just announced that the Institutional Review Board at the University of Washington (IRB) has approved the feasibility study for stroke rehabilitation using the Brain Interchange System. This marks a significant milestone and paves the way for the system’s clinical investigation in the United States. The IRB approval follows the recent Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) granted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), setting the stage for the study to proceed to participant recruitment. 📋✅ Dr. Martin Schuettler, CorTec’s CTO, highlights the groundbreaking potential of the Brain Interchange System: “Our system enables a seamless exchange of information between biology and technology, which is why we named it the CorTec Brain Interchange. The Lausanne-based clinical-stage company specializing in novel treatments for lymphedema, has successfully raised €17.9 million in Series B funding to accelerate research, development, and clinical advancement. 🚀 The round was co-led by Panakes Partners, TechWald Holding S.p.A., and CDP Venture Capital SGR's Digital Transition Fund, with participation from OCCIDENT, Zürcher Kantonalbank, and Club degli Investitori. Existing investors, including HTGF | High-Tech Gründerfonds, also participated. This investment will accelerate the clinical development and validation of LymphoDrain, a breakthrough implantable device designed to treat lymphedema, a chronic vascular condition that currently has no cure and affects millions worldwide. 🗨️ Dr. Marco Pisano, CEO and co-founder of Lymphatica Medtech says: "We are thrilled to have closed our Series B financing, which will enable us to advance the clinical development of our groundbreaking technology for lymphedema patients.
