👻 halloween's just around the corner. great time to share my own *CMS horror-story*. a tale that might send shivers down your content models. picture us, working on a client project with a swanky headless CMS - one of the leading ones out there. feeling good, making steady progress on the 16-months migration project, when suddenly – 💣 💣 💣 one year after the project start, the CMS drops (another) pricing change bomb that would make Ebenezer Scrooge look like a philanthropist 🤑 we're talking a 370% *monthly* license cost increase. we had to abandon ship and - almost at the end of the migration efforts - find a different CMS that wouldn't send our client's wallet to the graveyard. quite a plot twist, isn't it? now: go and try to explain our massive estimate change to the project stakeholders. I think I'd rather prefer to watch The Exorcist alone in the middle of a forrest than do it again. anyhow, this post has been mainly inspired by one of our CMS partners at Hygraph, as it also features Anastasiia's horror-story. very cool idea! thanks Andreas Jing for working with us on this 🤜 🤛 what's your favourite & personal horror story? ps. link to post below #ContentManagement #mach #composable #headless #TechNightmares

At WeFuse, challenges are our fuel! When a leading automotive brand approached us to build 13 websites for each country of operation, we quickly realised a traditional CMS just wouldn’t cut it. Trying to fit this complex, multilingual project into a standard solution felt like squeezing a heavy-duty pickup truck into a mini-cooper - just not happening! Enter the headless CMS. This flexible approach allowed us to customise for every region, ensuring top-notch performance and seamless integrations. Plus, we were able to launch new websites within weeks, keeping the momentum going strong! Dimitri Quadflieg, our Founder shared his thoughts on this. 🕷️ CMS Horror Stories: Part 2 We're back with part 2 of our CMS horror series! This time, we’re sharing more fun (and perhaps relatable) stories, from costly API mistakes to the struggle of having too many choices. Let’s dive in! 🎃 API costs gone wild: David Brinkmann, Head of Marketing at Macaw, learned the hard way that #API calls can quickly rack up costs. Monitoring usage is key to avoid scary surprises! Full story here: https://t.ly/33hc7 🎃 One too many choices: Sabine Götz, Lead Consultant New Business at SHOPMACHER eCommerce GmbH & Co. KG, reflects on how a fancy tool like Storyblok was overkill for a project that could have been handled with simpler tools. Details here: https://t.ly/33hc7 🎃 A traditional approach? Not so much! Dimitri Quadflieg, Co-Founder at WeFuse, realized that a traditional CMS was too limiting for the company’s 8-country project, so they switched to a #headlessCMS instead! Story link here: https://t.ly/33hc7 There are still more eerie tales coming your way, so stay tuned for part 3! 😱 And don't forget to read the full post here: https://t.ly/33hc7 #CMS #ContentManagement #DigitalNightmares #WebDevelopment

🦇 CMS Horror Stories: Part 1 We’ve all had those classic CMS moments that make us question our life choices! Whether it's a site crashing just minutes before launch or a mysterious bug that leaves everyone scratching their heads, we know the struggle is real. This Halloween season, we’re sharing some hair-raising CMS horror stories from the Hygraph community to remind you that you’re not alone. Trust us, you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you might even feel a little better about your own CMS struggles! Here are the first 4 terrifying confessions: 🎃 The “Publish button” dilemma: Gabriel Zanzotti, Senior Frontend Developer at Hygraph, learned the hard way when he clicked "publish" too soon, accidentally releasing content that wasn't meant for public eyes. Oops! 🎃 Is CMS versioning the real savior? Carsten Dütschke, Head of Development at SHOPMACHER eCommerce GmbH & Co. KG, warns us about how versioning nightmares can cause a drift between production and stage environments. 🎃 Content modeling gone wrong: Nikolay Vasilev, Lead Sales Engineering at Hygraph, tells the story of mixed-up schema design, costing 2 years of project time. A painful but valuable lesson. 🎃 Never assume, always check: Anastasiia Zubkova, Frontend Developer at Bejamas, shares how blindly following “best practices” without checking compatibility nearly derailed a project. 👉 Curious about the complete stories? Read the full blog here: https://t.ly/33hc7 Did your CMS ever cause chaos at the worst possible moment? If you’ve got a story that still gives you chills, drop it in the comments, we’d love to read it (and maybe cringe a little on your behalf)! 😬 #CMS #ContentManagement #DigitalNightmares #HeadlessCMS
