Two years ago, Christopher Schmidt M.Sc. and Christoph Zinsser visited the Cactus Project of Arizona Sonoran Copper Company Inc. (ASCU:TSX | ASCUF:OTCQX). When we first examined the drill core from the newly discovered Parks/Salyer deposit, we knew this would be a significant project. But George Ogilvie, P.Eng. and his team have far exceeded our expectations. The standalone PEA for the Cactus Open Pit Project reports a post-tax NPV8 of US$2.03 billion (C$2.77 billion), an IRR of 24%, and a LOM EBITDA of US$11.29 billion (C$15.36 billion). With a 31-year mine life and an average annual copper production of 175 million pounds, we're thrilled as shareholders - $ASCU remains one of our largest investments.
