"With determination, readiness and cohesion in the multinational #Alliance, we are sending a strong signal of deterrence", said JSEC's Chief of Staff, Major General Detlev Simons at the #Cadenabbia Academy 2025 I in Ulm. Invited by the Altstipendiaten der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung e.V., he gave a lecture about "War capability against the background of NATO's Enablement and Sustainment" and talked about strategic and personal readiness for current challenges in the global security situation. "It's not enough for NATO's military to be optimally prepared. The entire society must be prepared for deterrence and defense", emphasized General Simons. The lecture was followed by lively discussions with the audience about #NATO, "Kriegstüchtigkeit" and JSEC's mission and role. A big thank you to the former scholarship holders of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation for the great exchange of experiences and opinions! NATO

Steadfast Foxtrot 2025 ✔️ On Day 5️⃣ of #STFX25, NATO - Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE)'s Chief of Staff, General Markus Laubenthal, and other high-ranking visitors followed #JSEC's invitation to the exercise's Distinguished Visitors' Day. The event enabled the guests to observe both the Regional Plans as well as the Patient Flow Mangement wargames with valuable inputs by the games' champions and participants. “We are facing a new era of warfare. The military can’t take Enablement for granted and that’s exactly why Steadfast Foxtrot is so important. We are doing new things and we deliver what’s relevant. This exercise has been a decisive step forward in the, until that point pretty much unknown, territory of Enablement,” emphasized Lieutenant General Rohrschneider in his closing remarks during the last day of STFX25. 📢 JSEC at CEL25 🇵🇱 Air Commodore Elizabeth Purcell, Director of Development at NATO’s Joint Support and Enabling Command (#JSEC), delivered key insights at the Combat Engineer & Logistics Conference (#CEL25) in #Warsaw, #Poland, on 25 March 2025. Her session, “Supporting and Sustaining Allied Capabilities“ described JSEC’s role in ensuring credible deterrence and supporting SACEUR’s plans. She spoke on ✅ How JSEC collaborates with Host Nations to enable rapid force movement across Europe ✅ Contributions to setting the theatre for reinforcement by Allied forces ✅ Strengthening Host Nation Support capability to facilitate large-scale deployments 💬 “Ensuring the rapid movement of forces across Europe is critical to NATO’s deterrence and defence posture. #STFX25 Day 4️⃣ Today, we are taking a closer look at the Regional Plans Wargame. It's designed to allow participants from #NATO nations and logistic organizations to develop a greater understanding of their roles and responsibilities. Player roles in the exercise represent NATO headquarters and organizations, troop contributing nations and host nations. As an exercise participant emphasizes, the wargame benefits greatly from all the different levels of expertise, the players bring to the table. There are no victory conditions like in hobby board games as the mechanics mainly support and facilitate discussions required to achieve previously identified objectives. These are based on #JSEC's three core tasks of Enablement, Reinforcement by Forces and Sustainment. Even if there is no actual winner at the end, JSEC and the entire NATO community continue to further develop their mutual understanding of each other's processes and challenges. 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐌𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 The Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union (#EU) has invited #JSEC's Political Advisor (POLAD), Sergei Boeke, to a Conference on Military Mobility in Warsaw (#Poland) to discuss with experts of EU and non EU-nations aspects of #MilitaryMobility. "Military Mobility Areas are a substantial contribution to Enablement, Reinforcement by Forces and Sustainment. They help to ensure that the Alliance can move forces at speed and at scale to deter and - if necessary - to defend", highlighted Dr. Boeke on the panel discussion "Operational Readiness: Enhancing Military Mobility in Europe in key functional areas". Military Mobility Areas are the second step in an evolution from corridors to enabled areas. They are not limited to particular roads, air- or seaports but a comprehensive approach with regard to border crossing regulations, movement assets, information exchange, NATO requirements and EU resources. An important objective is to simplify and harmonize rules and regulations - all to enable and facilitate military deployments. They are an example for and a display of NATO’s determination and cooperation.

#STFX25 day 3️⃣ Let's take a closer look on the two wargames that make up the exercise here in #ulm. First up: Medical #NATO as an Alliance and all of its member nations closely cooperate to treat and bring back their wounded soldiers to their home countries or alternatively to a safe haven. A well planned Patient Flow and Medical Logistics are crucial in achieving exactly this. In the context of Collective Defense, #JSEC exercises with nations and headquarters the coordination of multi-national Strategic Medical Evacuation Capabilities because we not only fight together but also medically support one another. This patient flow management, one of JSEC's coordination tasks in regards to Enablement, demonstrates that in NATO, no one is left behind. We are ready to defend our Alliance and we are permanently adapting our capabilities and capacities. Ready for some Steadfast Foxtrot 2025 (#STFX25) facts? 🎯 ▶️ This year, sustainment topics have been fully integrated into the Regional Plans wargame. ▶️ In 2025, more players followed #JSEC's invitation to join the exercise than in any year before. ▶️ The Medical wargame does not solely bring together doctors but also other experts with different backgrounds who contribute greatly with their immense expertise. We learn with and from each other. Steadfast Foxtrot 2025 (#STFX25) is underway! 🎲 ♟️ #JSEC warmly welcomes over 200 participants to #ulm and the exercise's two wargames: Patient Flow Management and Regional Plans. Over the next days we will test, exercise, challenge and discuss procedures, processes and responsibilities between 23 nations, Allied Command Operation (ACO) community and our partners. The common goal: to make #NATO even stronger.
