Smart Evolution into Clean Mobility

Info

KEYOU is a young and successful high-tech company from the Clean Mobility sector that develops innovative hydrogen technologies, special components and combustion processes with the help of which conventional engines can be transformed into emission-free hydrogen engines - without major modifications to the basic engine. This ensures economic efficiency, but also scalability. KEYOU-inside technology can be used both ON THE ROAD and OFF THE Road. The further development of the classic combustion engine by KEYOU to use hydrogen as a sustainable fuel thus allows a quantum leap in propulsion development. The combination of high efficiency and power density achieves a completely new level. In the end, only harmless water vapor escapes as exhaust gas. The ideal solution for the commercial vehicle sector, with which engine and vehicle manufacturers can offer emission-free vehicles to their customers. The new "green" combustion engine with KEYOU-inside technology means zero emissions, efficiency and cost-efficiency at the same time - without any compromises in performance, payload or range. With KEYOU, "Sustainable Zero Emission" becomes reality.

❗ New important partnership on the way to our KEYOU fleet ❗   We have signed a letter of intent with Bücker & Essing GmbH for the joint ramp-up of hydrogen combustion engines. 🎉 Bücker + Essing is part of the Elevion Group and an international specialist in engine reconditioning. The agreement initially covers the conversion of around 1,000 new diesel engines to hydrogen by the end of 2028, in order to accelerate the market launch of hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles and thus the decarbonization of road freight transport. From 2029, a larger number of engines in existing vehicles will be converted.   With Bücker + Essing, we share a common conviction that the conversion of combustion engines will play a key role in the successful decarbonization of the commercial vehicle industry in the future. We are already working together successfully on engine conversions for our 18t pioneer fleet.   "We are proud to support this innovation project with our many years of expertise in the conversion of diesel engines to gaseous fuels and thus make an important contribution to the decarbonization of heavy goods transportation," says Ralf Wöllert, Managing Director of Bücker + Essing. "The cooperation with KEYOU is an important step for us to further expand our knowledge lead in the field of hydrogen. We are convinced that hydrogen engines will play an important role in the technology mix of the future in the long term." Our COO/CTO Markus Schneider adds: "We have long relied on the comprehensive expertise of Bücker + Essing, which has already been a reliable partner for the engine conversion of our pioneering vehicles. In addition, in Bücker + Essing we have found exactly the pioneering spirit and pragmatism that we need to go full throttle right from the start and with which we are convinced that we will also achieve our scaling targets in the subsequent ramp-up phase.”   Visit our newsroom to read the full press release: https://lnkd.in/d-c2w9WG

❗ Bundled power against differential taxation of H2 vehicles ❗ Together with Allianz Wasserstoffmotor e. V., well-known associations such as Bundesverband Güterkraftverkehr Logistik und Entsorgung (BGL) e.V., DSLV Bundesverband Spedition und Logistik / Federal Ass. for Freight Forwarding & Logistics Germany, BWVL BUNDESVERBAND FÜR EIGENLOGISTIK & VERLADER e. V., Verband der Automobilindustrie (VDA) e.V. and other strong partners from the commercial vehicle and energy sector, we have written an open letter to the German government demanding equal taxation of fuel cell and hydrogen engine powered vehicles! Currently, hydrogen for hydrogen engines is taxed, while hydrogen for fuel cells is exempt from energy tax - even though both propulsion systems are classified as zero emission according to EU standards! Companies like ours that offer competitive H2 commercial vehicles with hydrogen engines and our customers are systematically disadvantaged by the difference in taxation! It even goes so far that some hydrogen refuelling stations do not offer any refuelling options for vehicles with hydrogen engines, which severely limits the use of ready-to-run hydrogen trucks. Fortunately, we can already count on partners like Hypion GmbH, Tyczka Group, Hy2B Wasserstoff GmbH and TEAL Mobility who, despite the complicated political situation, have the necessary flexibility, pragmatism and will power to enable us and our customers to refuel! Nevertheless, this distortion of competition has to stop, because it massively slows down the market ramp-up of hydrogen mobility and sends out absolutely the wrong signal in terms of international competitiveness. After all, countries like the USA, China and India are not sleeping and have long since discovered the hydrogen engine for themselves. Only with a fair framework can hydrogen develop its full potential in the mobility revolution. The time to act is now. Allianz Wasserstoffmotor e. V., Bundesverband Deutscher Omnibusunternehmen, Bosch, CLAAS, Daimler Truck AG, DEUTZ AG, DKV Mobility, Deutscher Wasserstoff-Verband (DWV) e.V., Eberspächer Group, FPT Industrial, DIE GAS- UND WASSERSTOFFWIRTSCHAFT, GP JOULE Gruppe, H2NOW GmbH, Hy2B Wasserstoff GmbH, H2 MOBILITY, KEYOU, KRONE GROUP, MAHLE, MAN Truck & Bus SE, MEW Mittelständische Energiewirtschaft Deutschland e.V., MorGen Energy, Schaeffler, Schmitz Cargobull AG, Tyczka Group, UNITI Bundesverband EnergieMittelstand e.V., Verband der Internationalen Kraftfahrzeughersteller (VDIK), VDMA, Volvo Group, Zentralverband Deutsches Kraftfahrzeuggewerbe e.V. Successful first test run of the DILO ServiceCart H2 on the KEYOU truck   The reason why KEYOU is a strategic investment for DILO Armaturen und Anlagen GmbH was clearly demonstrated at last year's IAA, where the two companies presented the jointly developed "ServiceCart H2" for workshops and OEMs.   Under the leadership of DILO, a multi-purpose device for H2 mobility was created in a very short development time, which can be used for servicing both vehicles with fuel cells and vehicles with hydrogen engines. The big advantage is that the new device automates many manual activities with the help of specific functions and specially developed software. Not only can residual gas quantities and leaks be detected, but the inerting of the system with nitrogen can also be automated.   The positive response from visitors at the IAA is also reflected in the numerous discussions with potential end customers - service workshops and manufacturers of hydrogen vehicles - which give cause for optimism. And since yesterday's tests on the KEYOU prototype vehicle were positive, DILO plans to deliver the "ServiceCart H2" to the first customers this year.   Naturally, we at KEYOU are delighted that the first joint product development for our partner and investor DILO is already "bearing its first fruits"!

KEYOU at the HyWheels online cluster meeting Yesterday, our colleague Stefanie Jacobi spoke at the online cluster meeting of the HyWheels Hessen fleet cluster and gave an update on the availability and specifications of our H2 vehicles alongside hylane, who also gave an overview of their offering. This was preceded by an outlook on the manufacturer's perspective (clean room discussions) and the refueling infrastructure in the EU context (As part of the AFIR regulation, a hydrogen refueling infrastructure suitable for both cars and trucks must be installed at all urban hubs and every 200 km on the TEN-T core network routes from 2030). The event also included updates on the H2 refueling situation in the region and various regional projects, as well as a progress report from CHI Trucking Services by hylane and ENGINIUS GmbH. Last but not least, the session concluded with an outlook on the cluster's future activities and plans. An exciting exchange with inspiring participants, thank you for the invitation Lena Maier and Christoph Burkard!
