Following the federal elections in Germany yesterday, Germany’s manufacturing sector requires ‘urgent action,’ said Mahle CEO Arnd Franz in a live interview with CNBC, this morning. Here are his key messages:   📌It is important that the new German government will form together quickly and enters into decisive and immediate action based on a long-term vision and clear road map to bring Germany’s and Europe’s economy back on track, German manufacturing sector requires urgent action in terms of taxes, energy costs and flexibility of the labor market   📌For the automotive industry, regulation is a top issue. For defossilisation it is important to use all leverage for 2035: of course battery-electric vehicles, but also clean combustion engines including hybrids. Friedrich Merz must become a strong voice in Brussels where decisions are made.   📌We can use the power of the German manufacturing sector, car industry and suppliers to bring back the European and German armies back to standard so they can play their role in building a strong and self-sufficient defence system in Europe   📌We continue to fight for free trade. Series order: MAHLE to supply cooling module for megawatt charging stations MAHLE won the first series order for a new, high-performance cooling module for megawatt charging. The cooling module will be installed in fast-charging stations for electric commercial vehicles. The customer is a European cable manufacturer and outfitter of megawatt charging systems (MCS) who particularly rated the performance and cost efficiency of the cooling module as crucial factors in placing the order. Series production of the new cooling module will start at the end of 2025 at the MAHLE plant in Námestovo, Slovakia. “With this innovative cooling module, MAHLE is expanding its product portfolio for intelligent charging solutions and setting new standards in the charging infrastructure for electric trucks and electric heavy-duty vehicles,” said Christian Küchlin, Vice President MAHLE Industrial Thermal Systems.
