    On September 20th, in Milan’s iconic Piazza del Duomo, the MCM SS25 collection “Under The Sea” launched with a bang with the Dancing Duomo flashmob, a celebration of K-pop culture with performances by Gotoe, Sean, Harry-June, and SUI. Continuing AW24’s journey “From Munich to Mars”, this season seeks inspiration deep in the underwater world. The collection is deliberately seasonless, a way for the brand to encourage consumers to reduce their consumption by investing in versatile classics to style creatively year-round in line with MCM’s SMART Luxury ethos: Seasonless, Made for movement, Ageless, Responsible and Transformative.

    As part of MCM’s efforts to encourage volunteering and promote wellness and a sense of community among company staff, a number of employees from the Swiss office took place in WWF’s 2024 charity run. MCM made a donation for each kilometer run on the circuit while encouraging participants to find sponsors and increase the funds raised for the charity. The proceeds from this year’s event will help WWF to clean up sea pollution and protect the planet’s oceans.

    MCM x STF: Upcycled Couture MCM is proud to celebrate the creativity and innovation of fashion’s next generation through a project that aligns perfectly with MCM’s commitment to fostering local talent, sustainability, and the future of fashion. Back in February, students from the Swiss Textile Fashion School embarked on a six-month journey to craft visionary designs that embody MCM’s values and brand ethos using deadstock material. On Thursday, September 12th, MCM proudly welcomed the STF back to their Zurich store to unveil 11 distinct looks created as part of the project: a stunning mix of ready-to-wear pieces, accessories, and one-of-a-kind creations.

    MCM Spring/Summer 25 Launch   During Milan Fashion Week, MCM launched its latest collection in the heart of the capital with a press presentation at Terrazza Duomo 21. Entitled “Under The Sea”, the collection puts an underwater twist on iconic MCM motifs and shapes, drawing inspiration from every element of the marine world, from shoreside beach clubs to its unexplored depths.  The event was a great opportunity to showcase the SS25 collection and explain its central theme to attendees, which included a range of influencers and big names from the fashion world. Guests were able to take a deep dive into all the details and style pieces from the collection in their own unique way.     On September 19th, fashion-tech industry experts met in Milan to discuss the future of fashion and technology as part of the Korea-Italy Fashion Tech Alliance. Giuseppe Sala, Mayor of Milan, and Oh Se-hoon, Mayor of Seoul, delivered the opening remarks, before ceding the floor to an extraordinary lineup of visionary thinkers and future shapers. Attendees included the most innovative fashion-tech companies of the moment, including Korean fashion commerce giant MUSINSA, creative agency GiantStep, and Caliverse, the innovative metaverse platform. Emerging fashion-tech innovators from Silicon Valley such as Raspberry AI and MarqVision participated alongside representatives of top Italian academic institutions including Marangoni, POLIMI and Bocconi, and Korean research university KAIST and art & fashion school Hongik University. MCM CVO and Chairperson Mrs. Sung-Joo Kim and President & Global Brand Commercial and Officer Sabine Brunner also spoke at the event, which was hosted by Mrs. Kim’s SUNGJOO FOUNDATION.

    Pet Therapy Painting Performance MCM’s Seoul Flagship Store offered clients a unique opportunity to meet an artistic family: Alberto Biagetti and Laura Baldassari of Atelier Biagetti, with whom we collaborated on the Wearable Casa collection, their daughter Altea Biagetti, and her grandmother Noemi Zavoli. Zavoli showcased her ongoing decorative and painting projects alongside her artistic research, while Biagetti presented "Pet Therapy" project, bringing her artwork to MCM leather goods. A limited-edition canvas “Pet Therapy” bag was also available during the event. #MCMWearableCasa
