Classroom Training 2024: Empowering colleagues all over Europe! Once again, we have successfully organized our yearly sales and marketing training event in Frankfurt Am Main. We invited colleagues from our local European branches to enjoy an in-depth two-day session about Business Development, Sales and Marketing topics that will allow them to keep growing #Mobis in their respective markets. This face-to-face event was both a great learning and networking opportunity with colleagues from different backgrounds cooperating together. Thank you for everyone who participated and contributed to this learning experience. 

[M.People Vol.6] Meet Berveleen Mashonga M.Eng, Product and Strategy Manager in Mobis Technical Center of Europe (MTCE).  In the last five years she has been working in Mobis she has diverged her work mainly in-cabin technologies and Vehicle-to-everything technology (#V2X) and Advanced driver Assistance Technology. Her main goal is to develop and manage product and technology roadmaps while conducting research on automotive technology. Knowing the latest updates and developments in the automotive industry is key for this role, so Berveleen is always analysing competitors and identifying business opportunities according to the latest trends in the industry. She is also involved in #openinnovation topics such as technology and start-up scouting. Additionally, she travels the world presenting Mobis technologies in international conferences such as AutoSens USA, AutoSens Barcelona, and Vehicle and Transportation. She is also in the board advisory of Auto Sens. Berveleen is also the founder of Women in Automotive & Beyond on LinkedIn Group, a place to support girls and women in automotive and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (also known as STEM) subjects through mentoring. Her women in STEM advocacy work enabled her to speak at schools in the USA and UK to encourage more girls to pursue a career linked to STEM subjects. What are the main challenges of your team? I love all the challenges Mobis has to offer, probably the biggest one is coordinating with so many teams and departments. I work with different MTCE teams to understand out Mobis products and understand if we are in line with the current market. I conduct benchmarking and trend analysis of Mobis products to ensure we create the Mobis strategy accordingly. Additionally, I also work closely with Mobis HQ communicating information and work together to make the presentations about Mobis technology in international conferences. How do you envision “Future Mobility”? I envision an automotive future focused on urban mobility and shared services maximizing the interior and functionality of the vehicle. We are constantly developing and working on advanced technologies, for example, #crabdriving which was showcased at #CES this year. The vehicle is an ecosystem that integrates mechanical, electronic, sensor and software and semiconductor technologies to ensure user safety and environmental protection. What are your personal goals while working at Mobis? I would like to establish myself to bringing new ideas that highlight our strength at Mobis. MOBIS Parts Europe presented the latest accessories and merchandise designed for the #KiaEV3! The Kia Accessories Preview Meeting gathered 65 delegates in Vienna, including representatives from Kia subsidiaries and distributors across 15 European markets, as well as team members from Kia EU, MOBIS India, Korea, and the EU. All attendees participated in a presentation and a Touch & Feel introduction of 72 MPE-developed accessories for the new #EV3, covering styling, transportation, interior protection, and other needs. Moreover, participants examined 6 new EV3 items and 14 pieces from the Kia Collection merchandise. In addition to the core of the event – a comprehensive overview of the accessories business and showcase – attendees also received the latest updates on product marketing and the parts program.

We are thrilled to share our partnership with the world-renowned German optical company ZEISS Group to develop the Holographic Windshield Display (Holographic HUD) technology. This cutting-edge innovation will transform the windshield into a transparent display, enabling drivers to view critical driving information and entertainment options without diverting their attention from the road, thus improving safety and enhancing the vehicle's interior by removing conventional dashboard displays. We recently signed a business cooperation agreement with ZEISS, aiming for mass production of this next-generation display technology by 2027. The Holographic HUD will utilize a thin film that employs holographic technology to project videos and images onto the windshield, with ZEISS providing the necessary optical solutions while we focus on system development and projector technology. Our collaboration with ZEISS leverages both companies' expertise, having already created a prototype and conducted demonstrations for global automaker clients. We are excited to announce the introduction of 65 mobility technologies that we expect to commercialize within the next two to three years. This achievement is the result of our record R&D investment of approximately 1.7 trillion KRW, which has been focused on electrification and electronics. We remain committed to our R&D strategy to enhance our competitiveness in the rapidly evolving global automotive industry. We held our ‘2024 R&D Tech Day’ at the Uiwang R&D Center, inviting valued customers, key partners, respected academia, and major domestic media for the first time to showcase our advancements. The event, themed ‘Collective Inspiration,’ highlighted seven themes and featured 14 world-first innovations in electrification, electronics, and safety. We believe these achievements stem from our proactive projects aligned with mobility trends and our significant investments in talent and R&D culture. Since 2020, we have established a dedicated cybersecurity organization and have been advancing our Cybersecurity Management System (CSMS). Through these dedications, we are now the first Asian supplier to obtain cybersecurity certification in Europe. This certification confirms compliance with stringent European regulations, encompassing all aspects of product design, evaluation, quality control, production, and post-production management, which are essential for securing orders from European customers. Mobis Parts Europe Q3 2024 Strategic Workshop On September 23rd and 24th, MOBIS Parts Europe hosted an interim Q3 workshop in Frankfurt with presence of all MOBIS Parts Distribution Centers at European level and key business support departments located at Frankfurt offices. All teams gathered to discuss sales progress and recovery strategies with an emphasis on the 2025 Business Plan and Key Projects.

Last Friday, we celebrated Chuseok (추석), the Korean Thanksgiving, at MOBIS — but this time, the real engines weren’t just on the assembly line. Our CEO and C-levels rolled up their sleeves and served a typical Korean lunch to all the Mobisians present! From kimchi (김치) to spicy fried chicken (양념치킨) finishing sweet with Korean rice cakes (송편), it was more than just a meal per se — it was about 정 (jeong), the connection that powers us as one team in the true spirit of the Thanksgiving. Chuseok (추석), or hangawi (한가위), is one of the biggest holidays in South Korea.
