  • 𝗲𝗩𝗧𝗢𝗟 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗨𝗖 𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲  As the initial hype around #eVTOLs (in Germany) settles into a more realistic industry outlook, consistent with MAI's expectations as part of the first #AAM Pulse Check, one major tasks remains: safely and efficiently integrating eVTOL operations into existing airspace. A groundbreaking research project - led by Flughafen München, Munich Airport International, DFS Aviation Services GmbH, DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH and Airbus Helicopters and funded by the Free State of Bavaria -aims to tackle precisely this challenge. For the first time, arrival and departure procedures for eVTOLs are being drafted at a major international airport with parallel runway operations. Laying the Groundwork for Future Air Mobility The project operates under demanding conditions: ✅ Safety first – compliance with international standards is mandatory ✅ Minimal disruption to airport capacity is essential ✅ Maximizing eVTOL system throughput for future scalability The team has worked on VFR arrival and departure procedures for initial implementation. Looking ahead, IFR procedures are explored for long-term scalability under future regulations. Safety assessments have been conducted by DFS experts to ensure a seamless and secure transition. 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹-𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 – 𝗔 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗲𝗩𝗧𝗢𝗟 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻  One of the project’s biggest innovations is the realistic tower simulation of mixed conventional and eVTOL traffic. The simulation incorporates weather variations, traffic fluctuations, and complex airport operations, allowing stakeholders to analyze potential impacts and fine-tune operational procedures before real-world implementation (video clip). 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆’𝘀 𝗔𝗔𝗠 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆 & 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀  The German government has set the course for Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) with the National AAM strategy. A structured four-phase rollout shall begin in 2026 with test tracks and leads to nationwide AAM operations by 2032. Yet, challenges remain: regulatory uncertainties, economic viability, and technological readiness must be addressed. While Germany proceeds cautiously, global markets are moving faster: 🚀 Dubai has broken ground on its first commercial vertiport 🚀 Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and the U.S. continue ambitious AAM plans 🚀 India is quickly catching up Munich Airport is determined to be eVTOL-ready - ensuring that when the time comes, infrastructure, procedures, and operations are in place. #AdvancedAirMobility #MunichAirport #Innovation #AviationFuture #shapingthefutureofaviation
