✨ What an incredible event! ✨ Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming airport leaders from around the world to our annual partner event.   In a very fruitful 2-day workshop we analyzed current challenges and opportunities of the airport industry and explored strategies for shaping its future. From insightful presentations and dynamic panels to meaningful discussions, the event was packed with opportunities to exchange ideas, network, and learn from each other. We delved into industry trends, best practices, and innovative solutions that will help define the future of our sector. Some of the key topics included: 🌍 Outstanding real estate projects at Munich Airport ⭐ How to transform an airport into a 5-star experience 🤖 Robotics in Cargo Handling, 🌿 key projects and measures to make operations more sustainable, and ✈️the future of Advanced Air Mobility. In lively panel discussions we exchanged experiences from major planning and construction projects and explored the challenges and opportunities of airport management in the upcoming years. To top it all off, we wrapped up with a visit to Oktoberfest! 🍻 A huge thank you to all participants, it was a pleasure to welcome you to our beautiful homebase Flughafen München. 🍂 🌿 Last week we set out to the beautiful meadows of “Pflegeflächen Planegg”, a biotope in the Munich area, for our annual Biotope Care Day. This beautiful landscape conservation area is taken care of by the LBV - Landesbund für Vogel- und Naturschutz in Bayern, whose maintenance measures maintain the habitat conditions for a large number of rare animal and plant species 🦉.   Together we raked and collected the mown grass – a daunting task considering the size of the area. But everyone gave their all and, in the afternoon, we were proud to announce: We did it 💪!   We have been doing this for the third year in a row and it has become a beloved tradition to the team. It is a lot of fun, not only to work for a good cause, but to experience a different and very special kind of teamwork.   Have you ever done something like that in your company? Last week, the International Civil Aviation Organization (#ICAO) hosted its first-ever Advanced Air Mobility (#AAM) Symposium in Montreal, themed “𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗶𝗿 𝗠𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗢𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀”. The event drew a record-breaking 1,300 participants, including 400 high-level government officials from 75 countries, aviation industry leaders, and innovators and thus marked a milestone in the evolution of aviation.   While underscoring AAM's potential to contribute to the global transportation and mobility landscape with technologies like electric vertical take-off and landing (#eVTOL) aircraft and unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), the symposium also emphasized the regulatory, infrastructural, and societal tasks and challenges ahead.   We have been committed to supporting the development of AAM since the beginning and believe in its innovative power and its potential to transform the future of air transport. Thus, we were thrilled to be part of this top-tier event. Alongside Skyports Infrastructure and ENAC - Ente Nazionale per l'Aviazione Civile, our Managing Director Lutz Weisser participated in a panel on facilitation, which was led by Jean-Sebastien Pard of ACI World - Airports Council International.   The symposium was a landmark event, clearly showing that AAM is not a distant dream but is on the verge of becoming reality. Yet, there still are challenges, that need to be tackled.   𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁’𝘀 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀: 🔸 As AAM is gaining global momentum, there is a growing need for collaboration among stakeholders across the industry.  🔸 eVTOL manufacturers are leading the way in developing a global AAM landscape and advocate a pragmatic approach to integrate AAM technologies into existing aviation ecosystems. 🔸 The success of AAM is depending on the development of a comprehensive infrastructure, vertiports being a pivotal part of it. 🔸 While a global regulatory framework is essential for securing safe operations, the industry must find pragmatic solutions to avoid stifling innovation. 🔸 Safety and security are pivotal and play a major role for the public acceptance of AAM. 🔸 While AAM will most likely be a rather exclusive service for affluent passengers in the beginning, services need to be democratized quickly to maintain public acceptance as well as sustainability.   As a conclusion, the ICAO has called for global cooperation between all stakeholders so ensure a safe, accelerated, and sustainable deployment of AAM.   This symposium was an outstanding event, marking the importance of Advanced Air Mobility and emphasizing the need for an international collaboration.   You could not attend?
