Together with Stantec Taiwan, Moh and Associates Inc., and Da-link Architects, Munich Airport International is supporting the Kaohsiung terminal expansion project under the supervision of the Civil Aviation Administration of Taiwan. Recently we had the pleasure of welcoming our partners Li-Jen Chen, Bo-Chen Lin, Yee-fan Lin, Hao-yu Cheng and Paul Chuo to our beautiful homebase Flughafen München. After having been greeted by our Managing Director Lorenzo Di Loreto, the delegation set off to an extensive walking tour around Munich Airport, accompanied by our Head of Market APAC Simon Lotter, and our Marketing Manager Cornelia Käser. The tour introduced our guests to the technical infrastructure of Munich Airport such as passenger loading bridges, PCA, terminal air conditioning, heating, and BHS with a special emphasis on #sustainability aspects. We then enjoyed a typical Bavarian lunch at Airbräu, our famous airport brewery, before going on a bus tour around the airport, giving our guests an overview of MUC’s layout. We ended the eventful day with a wrap-up meeting to review the visit and answer any remaining questions. It was an honor to welcome our friends from Taiwan to MUC and we enjoyed the day very much. We look forward to further support the expansion of Kaohsiung International Airport and continue our fruitful partnership. Many thanks to Valentin Heizinger, Alois Daimer and Michael Lapperger of Munich Airport for taking their time and guiding our walking tour, giving our guests a comprehensive overview of our facilities, and sharing many valuable insights. #ShapingTheFutureOfAirports

🌎 Working abroad for MAI - #Meet our consultant Daniel Gumberger! Daniel joined Munich Airport’s International Business in 2010, after having finished his studies in #Aviation Management. Ever since he has actively led projects around the world, among others in Ecuador, Doha, Brazil, Bermuda and Singapore. In 2021, Daniel moved to Honduras, where he was first in charge of the #ORAT Project for the new Palmerola International Airport (XPL), before providing operational management support services between 2022 and 2024 in the fields of passenger experience, operational efficiency as well as airline marketing, amongst others. 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗹, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂? My tasks were very multifaceted. Starting from daily terminal inspections to check on the status of the systems and infrastructure to meeting with different committees and regular project meetings to align on ongoing activities and initiatives. I was working closely with XPL’s management team and the different stakeholders such as Airlines and Government Authorities. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲? Airports in general and airports operated in a Public Private Partnership model are always a highly political topic. Therefore, it is necessary to balance the interest of all stakeholders in order to achieve the best possible outcome for all your clients. But the team of Palmerola Airport is very dedicated and supportive and together, we tackled all challenges quite well. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀? Definitely the opening of the airport in December 2021. Since then, we received a lot of great feedback from passengers on the airport infrastructure and service quality as well as from airline managers on the open and collaborative support of XPL’s team. These moments are very rewarding, proving you did a good job. I am proud of the positive development of passenger numbers, especially on new routes such as BCN and MAD. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂? Its people. Hondurans are very open, warm and welcoming. In addition, the country is very diverse. Honduras has beaches, mountains, rain forests, islands, and a rich culture such as the Mayan ruins of Copan. The country is not yet known to a large number of tourists; therefore, nothing is really crowded yet. 𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝘁𝗶𝗽? Copan Ruinas, the beaches in Tela and the Amapala region in the south. Oh, and if you get a chance try Sopa de Caracol - a soup based on Coconut Milk with conch meat, yucca and platano. #airportmanagement #workingabroad #ShapingTheFutureOfAirports

🍂 🌿 Last week we set out to the beautiful meadows of “Pflegeflächen Planegg”, a biotope in the Munich area, for our annual Biotope Care Day. This beautiful landscape conservation area is taken care of by the LBV - Landesbund für Vogel- und Naturschutz in Bayern, whose maintenance measures maintain the habitat conditions for a large number of rare animal and plant species 🦉. Together we raked and collected the mown grass – a daunting task considering the size of the area. But everyone gave their all and, in the afternoon, we were proud to announce: We did it 💪! We have been doing this for the third year in a row and it has become a beloved tradition to the team. It is a lot of fun, not only to work for a good cause, but to experience a different and very special kind of teamwork. Have you ever done something like that in your company? We are curious to hear about your experiences in the comments! #TeamworkMakesTheDreamwork #CharityDay #ShapingTheFutureOfAirports
