🌟 NEW Lighthouse Event 2024 🌟 We are excited to announce an upcoming lighthouse event on Tuesday, October 22nd, 2024. This event, conducted in english under the motto #PowerOfNetworking and #OneMTU, is set to be a hybrid gathering that aims to engage and connect #NEW members from all MTU locations. We are delighted to have secured the presence of Monika Scheddin as our esteemed Keynote Speaker. Monika Scheddin is widely recognized for her expertise in networking strategies, as exemplified in her book "Erfolgsstrategie Networking" (in english: Success Strategy Networking). Following the keynote, Jaap Beijer and Sorina Seitz will join us for an insightful panel discussion. The participants will gain valuable insights into the art of networking, strategies to expand your network, and tips on how to grow professionally and personally through authentic relationships, and much more. 🌍 #NEW World Café ☕ Yesterday our monthly #networkofenginewomen World Café took place to connect our members from all MTU locations. After getting to know the participants from the Hanover, Munich and Nova Pazova locations for the first time, there was a great exchange about the daily working environment of each individual and the opportunities they have to get involved in the Network of Engine Women. As Annika Petersen and Julia Schmidt-Petersen, both long-standing members, attended the meeting, questions from new NEW members about event formats such as Lunch Roulette or the monthly Business Lunch were also clarified. Is there more energy in a monoculture pine forest, or a rainforest full of many different species of plant and animal? This is how I think about diversity. The first might be more tranquil, perhaps even easier going. But the second is more exciting. And when you transfer this thought to diversity at the work place and in teams: I would always chose the energetic version. Which is why I’m proud to be an ally and member of MTU Aero Engines' AeroPride LGBTQ+ network. They just celebrated their first birthday and have achieved so much in the first year: there are over 90 members at 5 MTU locations so far. The AeroPride network has also established a core team, created a charter, and carried out numerous events. I’m excited for your plans for year two: creating safe spaces across the company and training representatives and employees. I can’t wait to see what you achieve next!

NEW Core team exchange with Lars Wagner Before the summer break, the Network of Engine Women core team met with MTU Aero Engines CEO Lars Wagner for a Q2 exchange. The agenda included the upcoming changes in the core team, the networks goals for 2024 and the highlights of the year so far. This also included NEW's 5th birthday in April. Mr. Wagner highlighted the commitment of the network as an important component of MTU and praised the company-wide presence with the resources deployed. Particularly pleasing to note was the growth in new network members as well as the increased reach on LinkedIn in the first six months of the year. There was also an update on the upcoming lighthouse event with the motto #PowerofNetworking in the fall of this year. For the first time, this will be held simultaneously at several MTU locations. On 10th July 2024, a first aid course specifically for emergencies involving children took place on the MTU site in Munich for our NEW members. Initiated by the #networkofenginewomen working group "Compatibility of Family and Work" in cooperation with our company's health department and fire department the aim of the course was to teach participants basic first aid measures. The main topics were fever, croup attacks, injuries, especially to the head and extremities, burns, chemical burns and poisoning, as well as swallowing foreign bodies. The participants received comprehensive information and instructions on these topics. A special highlight was the practical exercise on resuscitating infants and small children using special training dummies from the #MTU fire department. In the third year that we have offered this service to our members, it has once again been very well received! #firstaid #children #training #emergency

🏃♀️ NEW at the B2run Also this year, many colleagues from our Network of Engine Women took part at the Munich company run -B2run- on Wednesday for MTU Aero Engines. As always, the atmosphere at the event was great and, in addition to the athletic performance, there was plenty of opportunity to make new contacts, exchange ideas and celebrate the successful run together. #networkofenginewomen #MTUAeroEngines #bettertogether #running #b2run
